Equity?
Do you believe God is gracious or does He always give us just what we deserve? What about the people we meet in daily business? Are they at least fair in their dealings, if not gracious? What about bankers, politicians, judges and even our local church shepherds? Are they always fair or gracious? Homebuyers can pay back to a money lender double or triple the cost of their house? That doesn’t seem right. And during and after paying it off, you can actually lose your home, just for not paying the local school taxes, even if you didn’t have children or you home schooled at your own expense? Surely there is more justice and less severity in the church’s daily business. Surely you can’t lose your church home for no good reason.
In my local church, some members actually lost their place in the church body without trial or arbitration. One of them had been serving as a faithful and generous shepherd for decades. These church members were suddenly and severely held accountable for their so called ‘false teaching’, without a public hearing or a private explanation. These Sunday School teachers were not teaching the modern day pop-culture view of eschatology, so they were forcefully silenced. They were given no biblical rationale and there was no accountability for the so called leaders who brought the censorship down upon them. Their archaic views were ousted without reason or recourse. One of them had been allowed to teach from the Bible for decades.
All further meetings to discuss the Bible or the rationality of the church creed were suddenly and without recourse blocked. Church members who had met in the building for decades were suddenly locked out. The locks on the doors were actually changed after we met to compare the creed to the Bible. It was all done by backroom edicts that were without rational discourse. Some of the man made edicts were quickly erased from record because they would appear so egregious to any normal person. Reason was not given a voice. Records were redacted. Further discussion of the Logos was silenced for the sake of a manmade creed that wasn’t up for discussion either. It certainly divided the church body between us and them. The creed was actually placed over the Bible. That explained it all. They wanted us to leave them to their church. The tried to force us out.
A list was made of the church members associated with a certain Sunday School class. They were labeled “those people” and were denied further use of the church building or its website. My wife and I were among “those people” blocked from our Sunday school and from the church website. We were labeled inactive. When we tried to use our passwords they no longer worked. We were ousted by somebody or some bodies without even being told. We were inactivated. Evidently my wife was not even to work in the nursery anymore. She was “officially” labeled inactive in the church body by someone in the church body.
What do you call a church regime that clandestinely behaves like this and then takes the position of being beyond reproach because they follow a creed? A church government gone rogue? A misappropriation of authority? A chiefdom? What about the church media that published the lie that all of “those people” were suddenly inactive in their church? “Those people” were all found guilty and inactivated by the church chiefdom, without any sort of trial, by jury or judge.
Do you comply with the manmade creed or not? If not then you are guilty of creed rebellion, as is anybody associated with you, so be quiet from now on, or leave and don’t come back. This isn’t a Bible church. This is a modern-day-creed church. Is severity more abundant than grace everywhere in our daily walk with people? Even in my local church-of-the-pop-culture creed? Is punishment without a trial or an explanation the proper example of how to ‘shepherd’ God’s people into the uninspired creed corral? It was all such a worldly show put on by church people. Surely the grass is greener in the Biblical pastureland than the falsely critical creed corral.
(Rogue: a dishonest or unprincipled person. “you are a rogue and an embezzler”)
Thousands of years ago, 3 out of 4 of Job’s counselors were wrongly critical of him. Job was eventually restored and God even afforded grace to Job’s wrong headed ‘friends’. Toward the end of his tribulation, Job prayed for his false critics. Job became a type of a new creation after his severe tribulation ended. The fulfillment of this type of a new marriage creation was through the One true Son. Satan went after Him too. “Let His blood be on us and our children”, was spoken by typical Jerusalem in their rogue mode. Their interpretation of the Bible was wrong. They judged Jesus by their flesh mode expectations. It is reminiscent of “Curse God and die”, as spoken by Job’s old creation wife gone rogue.
Job lost everything he had, maybe even His first marriage covenant with his unfaithful wife – Job 1:8-22. Three out of the four people judging Job persecuted him by misinterpreting his transition trial, plus his wife. That makes 4 out of 5. Job lost it all only to receive it back again more abundantly in his new family creation. God wasn’t condemning Job. God held Job up as His faithful son prior to Satan’s test. The same thing Happened to Jesus after God said,`Thou art My Son—the Beloved, in thee I did delight.’ Elihu was the only one who offered a reasonable response to Job that lifted up the Lord, condemned Job’s three friends, and gave Job a fair hearing. Oh to be an Elihu when we see others falsely condemning someone.
After Job’s trial ended, he was given twice as much wealth as before and the same size family as before. We know from the text that the same number of sons and daughters was duplicated and that his wealth was doubled. The text does not say whether God gave him another wife or if the same wife had 10 more children. In the fulfillment of the types, all of God’s children were reborn into the new covenant, even those who had died, including the elect from Job’s 20 children. If the transition of covenants doubled God’s children that would be a lot. What was Hades made for if not a place of grace to wait for the Messiah? Even Job wasn’t without fault and needed to wait in Hades. Job typified the faultless One to come, but only Jesus could mediate for His friends before the end of the great tribulation. That included Paul who was falsely persecuting Jesus along with the old status quo.
“Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?” reminds us of King Saul who persecuted David during a typical regime transition – Acts 9:4. Paul actually thought it was proper to persecute the born again Jews during their covenant transition. Paul was offended by their faithful view of eschatology. Paul wanted to remain in the flesh mode. The born again Jews became men after God’s own heart. They were given the heart of their messiah on Pentecost. Saul still had a heart of stone. The new covenant Jews were of course the right ones. Up until Jesus confronted Paul, he was an old covenant Jew with a wrong view of eschatology. The Holy Spirit view is the right one. Just as Jesus had explained to the teacher of Israel in John chapter 3.
Job 1:1-3
WEB 1 There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job. That man was blameless and upright, and one who feared God, and turned away from evil. 2 There were born to him seven sons and three daughters. 3 His possessions also were seven thousand sheep, three thousand camels, five hundred yoke of oxen, five hundred female donkeys, and a very great household; so that this man was the greatest of all the children of the east.
Job 42:10
WEB 10 Yahweh turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends [friend, associate, fellow-citizen]. Yahweh gave Job twice as much as he had before.
The same word used in Job 42:10 is also found in Isaiah 61:7, where Yahweh promises a second something: a second time rejoicing, a second time in the land, a second covenant or a double allotment [or some or all of the above]. After the great tribulation of God’s people (which took place during their marriage covenant transition) God’s chosen people were given relief from the unfaithful old covenant view of the eschaton. The interpretations vary, but for sure the persecutions coming from the old covenant hold outs who remained in the land ended, as God’s new marriage covenant was being fulfilled. Whether God created a new wife from Jesus side or released the old wife to be reformed is up for interpretation.
Isaiah 61:7
YLT 7 Instead of your shame and confusion, A second time they sing of their portion, Therefore in their land A second time do they take possession, Joy age-during is for them.
Isaiah 61:7
KJV 7 For your shame ye shall have double; and for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them.
Isaiah 61:7
CLV 7 Instead of your shame, a second portion is yours, and for confounding they shall jubilate in their portion. Wherefore, in their land a second portion shall they tenant. And rejoicing eonian shall come to be on their heads.”
Who was rejoicing at the end of their old covenant if not the new covenant Jews and their proselytes? The Jews no longer required circumcision for their proselytes after the Jerusalem church council openly aired the case, in favor of the antitypical eschatos (in the sense of the final stage in the transition process). The Gentiles were being born again by the same Holy Spirit that granted new covenant life to the Jews. Who wants to argue a case against the Holy Spirit reformation? If the Holy Spirit wasn’t requiring circumcision in order to see or enter the kingdom, then the born again Jews shouldn’t be requiring it either. That was the judgement from the church counsel in Jerusalem. Who dares to judge God? Even Job seemed to err slightly in that direction.
John 3:5-7
CLV 5 Jesus answered, “Verily, verily, I am saying to you [teacher of the Jews], If anyone should not be begotten of water and of spirit, he can not be entering into the kingdom of God.” 6 That which is begotten by the flesh is flesh, and that which is begotten by the spirit is spirit.” 7 You should not be marveling that I said to you, ‘You must be begotten anew.'”
Luke 4:14-21
YLT 14 And Jesus turned back in the power of the Spirit to Galilee, and a fame went forth through all the region round about concerning him, 15 and he was teaching in their synagogues, being glorified by all. 16 And he came to Nazareth, where he hath been brought up, and he went in, according to his custom, on the sabbath-day, to the synagogue, and stood up to read; 17 and there was given over to him a roll of Isaiah the prophet, and having unfolded the roll, he found the place where it hath been written: 18 `The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, Because He did anoint me; To proclaim good news to the poor, Sent me to heal the broken of heart, To proclaim to captives deliverance, And to blind receiving of sight, To send away the bruised with deliverance, 19 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.’ 20 And having folded the roll, having given it back to the officer, he sat down, and the eyes of all in the synagogue were gazing on him. 21 And he began to say unto them—`To-day hath this writing been fulfilled in your ears;’
Jesus was largely accepted by the Jews in His first year of Holy Spirit ministry. How could you not love Him who heals and pardons? As time passed the Jewish status quo saw His eschatology as a bigger and bigger threat to their wealthy establishment. Jesus said he came to divide the Jews among themselves. I can only surmise that this division was between the Jews who followed Him and the Jews who didn’t. He promised much tribulation to those who followed Him, yet they would be given a hundred fold during and after their troubles. Did Peter and Paul lose out by following Jesus? Peter and Paul were blessed by the Holy Spirit and by foreigners in foreign lands, even while being persecuted by their own people, who chased them wherever they went. Jesus said these blessed promises of His applied to the old covenant age and to the age to come. His healing ministry was so old covenant until the new covenant re-formation got started. Then the born again Jews continued His Holy Spirit enabled ministry.
Mark 10:29-30
YLT 29 And Jesus answering said, `Verily I say to you, there is no one who left house, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or fields, for my sake, and for the good news’, 30 who may not receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brothers, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and fields, with persecutions, and in the age that is coming, life age-during;
Isaiah 61
YLT 1 The Spirit of the Lord Jehovah is on me, Because Jehovah did anoint me To proclaim tidings to the humble, He sent me to bind the broken of heart, To proclaim to captives liberty, And to bound ones an opening of bands. 2 To proclaim the year of the good pleasure of Jehovah, And the day of vengeance of our God, To comfort all mourners. 3 To appoint to mourners in Zion, To give to them beauty instead of ashes, The oil of joy instead of mourning, A covering of praise for a spirit of weakness, And He is calling to them, `Trees of righteousness, The planting of Jehovah—to be beautified.’ 4 And they have built the wastes of old, The desolations of the ancients they raise up, And they have renewed waste cities, The desolations of generation and generation. 5 And strangers have stood and fed your flock, Sons of a foreigner are your husbandmen, And your vine-dressers. 6 And ye are called `Priests of Jehovah,’ `Ministers of our God,’ is said of you, The strength of nations ye consume, And in their honour ye do boast yourselves. 7 Instead of your shame and confusion, A second time they sing of their portion, Therefore in their land A second time do they take possession, Joy age-during is for them. 8 For I am Jehovah, loving judgment, Hating plunder for a burnt-offering, And I have given their wage in truth, And a covenant age-during I make for them. 9 And known among nations hath been their seed, And their offspring in the midst of the peoples, All their beholders acknowledge them, For they are a seed Jehovah hath blessed. 10 I greatly rejoice in Jehovah, Joy doth my soul in my God, For He clothed me with garments of salvation, With a robe of righteousness covereth Me, As a bridegroom prepareth ornaments, And as a bride putteth on her jewels. 11 For, as the earth bringeth forth her shoots, And as a garden causeth its sown things to shoot up, So the Lord Jehovah causeth righteousness and praise To shoot up before all the nations!
The Jews typically acted like Jonah or Job’s 3 friends. They did not praise God when they heard Jesus tell the good news of their salvation. They wanted to remain in their original flesh birth reformation. They heard Jesus say that the kingdom of God was not of their world and would not appear visibly. They wanted to rule the kingdom in the flesh. They even tried to make Jesus a King in the flesh, by force. In the flesh they tried to make it happen according to their preferred eschatology and they failed miserably. They were eventually paid back double for the trouble they brought upon God’s people, according to Revelation 18:6. That’s a lot less severe than the eternal place of torment some people have invented as the fateful and never ending existence for all unbelievers, regardless of their context in this life. Exceptions are sometimes made for people who died as babies and who are supposedly still waiting in Hades with King David. Everyone else eventually goes to burn in Hell forever.
1 Peter 1:1-12
CLV 1 Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the chosen expatriates of the dispersion of Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, the province of Asia, and Bithynia, 2 according to the foreknowledge of God, the Father, in holiness of spirit, for obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: May grace and peace be multiplied to you!” 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Who, according to His vast mercy, regenerates us into a living expectation, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from among the dead, 4 for the enjoyment of an allotment incorruptible and undefiled and unfading, kept in the heavens for you, 5 who are garrisoned by the power of God, through faith, for salvation ready to be revealed in the last era, 6 in which you are exulting; briefly at present, if it must be, being sorrowed by various trials, 7 that the testing of your [Jewish] faith, much more precious than gold which is perishing, yet, being tested by fire, may be found for applause and glory and honor at the unveiling of Jesus Christ, 8 Whom, not perceiving, you are loving; in Whom, not seeing at present, yet believing, you are exulting with joy unspeakable and glorious, 9 being requited with the consummation of your faith, the salvation of your souls.” 10 Concerning which salvation the prophets seek out and search out, who prophesy concerning the grace which is for you, 11 searching into what or what manner of era the spirit of Christ in them made evident, when testifying beforehand to the sufferings pertaining to Christ and the glories after these.” 12 To whom it was revealed that, not to themselves, but to you they dispensed them, of which you [diaspora Hebrews] were now informed through those who are bringing the evangel to you by holy spirit dispatched from heaven, into which messengers are yearning to peer.”
1 Peter 2:2-3 – Peter wrote to the diaspora
CLV 2 as recently born babes [born again diaspora Hebrews of course], long for the unadulterated milk of the word that by it you may be growing into salvation, 3 if so be that you taste that the Lord is kind:
Matthew 18:2-5 – Jesus taught the Jews in the land that they must be born again or perish
LITV 2 And having called forward a little child, Jesus set him in their midst. 3 And He said, Truly I say to you, Unless you convert and become as the little children, not at all can you enter into the kingdom of Heaven. 4 Then whoever will humble himself as this little child, this one is the greater in the kingdom of Heaven. 5 And whoever will receive one such little child in My name receives Me.
Revelation 18:5-8
YLT 5 because her sins did follow—unto the heaven, and God did remember her unrighteousness. 6 Render to her as also she did render to you, and double to her doubles according to her works; in the cup that she did mingle mingle to her double. 7 `As much as she did glorify herself and did revel, so much torment and sorrow give to her, because in her heart she saith, I sit a queen, and a widow I am not, and sorrow I shall not see; 8 because of this, in one day, shall come her plagues, death, and sorrow, and famine; and in fire she shall be utterly burned, because strong is the Lord God who is judging her;
There was an earthly replica of a heavenly reality. This theme is throughout scripture, starting in Genesis. The old covenant priesthood served at a temple that was a copy and a shadow of what is a reality in heaven.
Revelation 6:9-11
YLT 9 And when he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those slain because of the word of God, and because of the testimony that they held, 10 and they were crying with a great voice, saying, `Till when, O Master, the Holy and the True, dost Thou not judge and take vengeance of our blood from those dwelling upon the land?’ 11 and there was given to each one white robes, and it was said to them that they may rest themselves yet a little time, till may be fulfilled also their fellow-servants and their brethren, who are about to be killed—even as they.
Jerusalem received God’s wrath and became desolate in AD 70. The old covenant Jews who wanted to rule in the flesh in God’s kingdom were trying to stop the new covenant Jews from proclaiming the good news of the kingdom: seen and entered into only by way of the Holy Spirit rebirth. The Kingdom Of God did not come with observation as the old covenant Jews in the flesh had hoped for. They did observe the end of the old covenant.
Daniel 9:27
YLT 27 And he hath strengthened a covenant with many—one week, and in the midst of the week he causeth sacrifice and present to cease, and by the wing of abominations he is making desolate, even till the consummation, and that which is determined is poured on the desolate one.’
The body being made desolate in the first century was not the new covenant assembly. It was the old covenant assembly. The unfaithful Jews in the land were still claiming to be married to Yahweh by way of His old marriage covenant. Jesus set His people free from the old husbandman Adam in the middle of the 70th week of Daniel. Jesus made the Jews without a firstborn husbandman when He took Adam’s place in their old covenant death. Jesus put the one and only true old covenant man to death. He would no longer share the healing power of the Holy Spirit in His old covenant body. Jesus set His people free to remarry Yahweh in His new marriage covenant or die as the unfaithful widow in denial. Hebrews 5:7 explains to the Hebrews what Jesus went through to save His chosen people from their flesh mode. He feared God more than He feared their old covenant death. Their death was the worst thing He could ever suffer, yet it could not hold Him in Hades, because disobedience was out of the question.
Hebrews 5:7
LITV 7 who in the days of His flesh was offering both petitions and entreaties to Him being able to save Him from death, with strong crying and tears, and being heard from His godly fear;
Romans 8:9-11
ECB 9 And you are not in flesh, but in Spirit whenever the Spirit of Elohim dwell in you. And if one has not the Spirit of Messiah, he is none of his. 10 And if Messiah is in you, the body is indeed dead because of sin; and the Spirit is life because of justness. 11 But if the Spirit of him who raised Yah Shua from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Messiah from the dead also enlivens your mortal bodies through his Spirit dwelling in you.
Obviously the Holy Spirit life that was given to mortal first century bodies didn’t make their flesh and blood bodies immortal, neither singularly nor corporately. Jesus’ old covenant flesh and blood body could and did die, even though He never sinned, even though the Holy Spirit remained on Him. Even Adam could have lived to 1000 in the flesh and blood covenant, even after He sinned. God graciously put his millennial fulfillment in the typical realm on hold. Adam needed the heavenly realm tree of life to come down and save him. Those who were eventually allowed to finish in the flesh all perished to the age. Only Jesus could finish in the old covenant and arrive alive.
The Holy Spirit remained on Jesus even in the old covenant, yet He could still die. The Holy Spirit enabled Jesus to perform miracles in the old covenant, but the Holy Spirit didn’t make His flesh immortal. He returned from His trial in the wilderness to minister in the power of the Holy Spirit. Any sinless person could have done that. There wasn’t any accept Him. That is the whole point. Only He could arrive alive in the old covenant.
Miraculously Jesus avoided a premature death at the hands of His enemies, both as a child and as an adult. The Holy Spirit enabled Jesus to avoid a premature death. The Holy Spirit gave life to His old covenant body both at conception and baptism. The fullness of His old covenant life as a mature son of Adam/Son of God is what He chose to lay down, only to take it up again in the new. The reason He moved Himself into a new creation was so His people could join Him there. He had full life in the old. That didn’t mean He would have remained on earth forever in the His flesh and blood body. Flesh and blood could not inherit eternal life. Either He was the exception or He didn’t need to inherit it. He alone always Had immortality. He came down to give eternal life to all His chosen people.
It was the Holy Spirit who raised Jesus’ mortal body into the new covenant after He covenantally died in it. In the new covenant He could not covenantally die again. There is no covenant death in the new covenant. That was the whole point of the transition of covenants. Whether they were Jewish or Gentile bodies that were born again didn’t matter to the Holy Spirit. It was and is only the born again people of God (into the new covenant body of Christ) that are given eternal life.
The body that sins shall die. Jesus never sinned yet He still chose to die for His people. His body alone didn’t see corruption or decay due to personal sin. Because He didn’t ever sin. Everybody else did and does sin in the flesh. Everyone else still dies in the flesh too. Nobody takes their flesh body to the real temple in heaven as the final offering. Paul was given life in his mortal body and then sacrificed his old covenant life for the cause, yet Paul didn’t ascend to heaven with his flesh and blood body. That would be offensive to ascend to heaven in a flesh and blood body that sinned. Paul was made righteous in his new covenant body. Only Jesus’ body was without corruption in the old covenant. We don’t take the corruptible flesh of our first birth to heaven. We leave it here. Even Paul was corrupted in the flesh before being born again. He did not ascend like Jesus. His old covenant body was corrupted. Eternal life was given to his dying body and it still died. Jesus sacrificed His old covenant flesh and blood body before it reached the covenant age of immortality. He didn’t sacrifice His flesh and blood to make flesh and blood immortal. Even the flesh and blood body of Adam was only meant to last 1000 years. Eternal life is in heaven.
At the millennium fulfillment two things occurred. Eternal life and destruction. Obviously the eternal life we are given isn’t in the flesh. Everybody can see that with their own eyes. Jesus flesh body isn’t pictured returning to the dirt like ours is. But flesh and blood bodies don’t actually live in heaven. The angels had to take on a flesh and blood body to appear to us on earth. They didn’t take them to heaven. They already had heavenly bodies that outperformed earthly bodies. They could appear on earth and then return to heaven.
Jesus promised great tribulation and even martyrdom to come upon the faithful Jews. He also promised they would see Him again after He died, in a little while. After He was resurrected, the Jews did see Him with their physical old covenant eyes, for 40 days, while they were still in their flesh and blood covenant. Born again Jews were biblically speaking no longer in the flesh. Only Jesus was a born again Jew before Pentecost. Many unique things happened during the transition of covenants. The Holy Spirit gave life to Jesus’ mortal body for 40 days. Only He had that life in the old covenant of flesh and blood. Only He would have arrived to the age alive had he not sacrificed His flesh-covenant life.
2 Corinthians 5:16
KJV 16 Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.
John 16
CLV 1 These things have I spoken to you that you may not be snared, 2 for they will be putting you out of the synagogues; but coming is the hour that everyone who is killing you should suppose he is offering divine service to God. 3 And these things will they be doing to you, for they know not the Father nor even Me.” 4 But these things have I spoken to you that, whenever their hour may be coming, you may be remembering them, seeing that I told you. Now these things I did not tell you from the beginning, seeing that I was with you.” 5 Yet now I am going away to Him Who sends Me, and not one of you is asking Me, ‘Whither art Thou going?'” 6 But, seeing that I have spoken these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart.” 7 But I am telling you the truth. It is expedient for you that I may be coming away, for if I should not be coming away, the consoler will not be coming to you.” 8 Now if I should be gone, I will send him to you. And, coming, that will be exposing the world concerning sin and concerning righteousness and concerning judging:” 9 concerning sin, indeed, seeing that they are not believing in Me;” 10 yet concerning righteousness, seeing that I am going away to My Father, and no longer are you beholding Me;” 11 yet concerning judging, seeing that the Chief of this world has been judged.” 12 Still much have I to say to you, but you are not able to bear it at present.” 13 Yet whenever that may be coming – the spirit of truth -it will be guiding you into all the truth, for it will not be speaking from itself, but whatsoever it should be hearing will it be speaking, and of what is coming will it be informing you.” 14 That will be glorifying Me, seeing that of Mine will it be getting, and informing you.” 15 All, whatever the Father has, is Mine. Therefore I said to you that of Mine is it getting, and will be informing you.” 16 A little, and no longer are you beholding Me; and again, a little, and you shall be seeing Me.” [The little while before Jesus died and was seen again was not thousands of years. A little while never means thousands of years, not even in Hebrews 10:37-38.] 17 Some, then, of His disciples said to one another, “What is this that He is saying to us, ‘A little, and you are not beholding Me, and again, a little, and you shall be seeing Me?’ and that ‘I am going away to the Father’? 18 They said, then, “What is this ‘little’ which He is saying? Not aware are we of what He is speaking.” 19 Jesus, then, knew that they wanted to ask Him, and He said to them, “Concerning this are you seeking with one another that I said, ‘A little, and you are not beholding Me, and again, a little, and you shall be seeing Me’? 20 Verily, verily, I am saying to you that you shall be lamenting and wailing, yet the world will be rejoicing; [the world that rejoiced to see Jesus die was the world that killed Him. Pilate tried to save Him, but the Jews insisted He die to save their old covenant system.] yet you [the faithful Jews] shall be sorrowed, but your sorrow shall become joy.” [The faithful Jews rejoiced to see the resurrection of their messiah. The old covenant hold outs doubled down by persecuting the faithful Jews who were rejoicing in their salvation]21 A woman, whenever she may be bringing forth, is having sorrow, seeing that her hour came; yet whenever she should be bearing the little child, no longer is she remembering the affliction, because of the joy that a human being was born into the world.” 22 You then [the believing Jews were sorrowful when Jesus died], also, now, indeed, will be having sorrow, yet I shall be seeing you again, and your heart shall be rejoicing, and your joy no one is taking away from you.” 23 And in that day you will not be asking Me anything. “Verily, verily, I am saying to you that whatever you should be requesting the Father, He will be giving it to you in My name.” 24 Hitherto you do not request anything in My name. Request and you shall obtain, that your joy may be full.” 25 These things have I spoken to you in proverbs. Coming is the hour when no longer shall I be speaking to you in proverbs, but with boldness shall I be reporting to you concerning the Father.” 26 In that day you will be requesting in My name, and I am not saying to you that I shall be asking the Father concerning you, 27 for the Father Himself is fond of you, seeing that you are fond of Me, and have believed that I came out from God.” 28 I came out from the Father and have come into the world [born into the Jewish world]. Again, I am leaving the world and am going to the Father.” 29 His disciples are saying to Him, “Lo! now with boldness art Thou speaking, and not one proverb art Thou telling.” 30 Now we are aware that Thou art aware of all and hast no need that anyone may be asking Thee. By this we are believing that Thou camest out from God.” 31 Jesus answered them, “At present you are believing [Jesus had to restore their faithfulness into a permanent way].” 32 Lo! the hour is coming and has come, that you should be scattered, each to his own, and you may be leaving Me alone. And I am not alone, for the Father is with Me.” 33 These things have I spoken to you [faithful Jews] that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have affliction. But courage! I have conquered the world.” [Jesus conquered their old covenant death. There is no new covenant death.]
Hebrews 10:37-38
YLT 37 for yet a very very little, He who is coming will come, and will not tarry; 38 and `the righteous by faith shall live,’ and `if he may draw back, My soul hath no pleasure in him,’
The born again Hebrews in diaspora were made righteous by the maturation of their faith, as fleshed out in their old covenant, by their Christ. They lived to the age only in His resurrection/new covenant rebirth. The Hebrews who were not born again perished. The Jewish faith of Jesus is only in the new covenant, now and evermore. Jesus’ faith was originally in the old covenant. Jesus was born and raised in an old covenant body. He was reborn fully formed into His new covenant body, so all His chosen people could be saved by His fully formed faith, in His new creation re-formation. Life to the fulfillment of the age was accomplished by His faithfulness.
It is so obvious in Genesis that nobody lived to or was allowed to live to 1000 years of age in the flesh. It is so obvious in Revelation chapter 20 that a fulfillment of 1000 years with Christ is in view, no longer in the flesh. Those in the resurrection of Jesus were biblically no longer in the flesh and therefore not at all harmed by the second old covenant death in the flesh. Those still under law died dead at the millennial fulfillment, in the flesh.
The old covenant in the flesh is no more, while the new covenant not in the flesh is never-ending. Never-ending means: the re-birthed/resurrected people of God never die. Do you believe this? The old covenant people died twice already. Accountability for 490 years of flesh failure ended in covenant death, both times. Are you still putting your hope in a thousand-year fulfillment in the flesh? Even Jesus reluctantly laid down His sinless flesh and blood fulfillment in order to save His people from finishing their millenium twice dead, still in the flesh. Are we now demanding a flesh finish of the millennium after all? Isn’t that an insult to the greatest sacrifice of all time?
Jesus alone could have arrived alive in the flesh and blood covenant without all the suffering on the cross. He chose not to finish alone, however reluctantly. It was not an easy choice. He did sweat the big stuff. At least that one. The cross was the victorious chiasmus that reversed all the old covenant curses in Himself. He wasn’t lifted up for nothing. He suffered on the cross for the re-formation finish, no longer in the flesh. His old covenant flesh always obeyed. He didn’t need the so called ‘glorified flesh’ of His resurrection in order to obey. His flesh was always sinless already. He never missed and He wasn’t about to. He died in the old covenant to get His people out of their flesh covenant, not to be born again into a ‘glorified’ flesh creation. That was the rebirth error of Nicodemus. The teacher of the old covenant Jews could only imagine living forever in the kingdom in a flesh body.
