The Temple Of Doom
Jesus did not leave His chosen people without hope in their empty house. When He Himself left the old place, (for their new place of divine presence and favor) He left His way of blessedness wide open to his people. Those Jews who professed the name of Jesus were saved from their desolate house before they were annihilated along with their empty temple. The temple gold was plundered by the Romans, but the glory of Yahweh had already left the temple desolate. God plundered the old covenant house of all His chosen vessels before He sent the Romans in to destroy it. All God’s chosen people were redeemed on the cross. None were left in their temple of doom and gloom. Gloom is a synonym for darkness.
The presence of God in first century Jerusalem was in His Son. He plainly called Himself the temple of Yahweh that they themselves were about to destroy. They robbed themselves of the presence of God by destroying the only true temple that contained the image of Yahweh. Jesus walked into old covenant Jerusalem in His Father’s name and they killed Him. They hated the image He portrayed. Jesus still allowed the most guilty among them to change houses before it was too late. God’s chosen people were being called to move from their self-desolated house into their full house, at least until the old covenant time of forgiveness ended for good. After the second 490 years, forgiveness for old covenant hold-outs ended.
Those who rejected their salvation sent from heaven, stayed with their empty temple and perished with their old empty house. Some Jews blasphemed the Holy Spirit of rebirth in their rejection of Jesus’ ministry. His ministry was specifically targeted to His own people in the flesh. Those who blasphemed in their flesh were not His chosen people. Those who professed the name of the Lord before AD70 arrived were His people. Those who didn’t get saved died lost.
Jesus came to separate members of the old covenant body into two groups of Jews: those who were for Him and those who were against Him. Salvation arrived for the Jews before their second death. Those in Christ were not at all harmed by the second death. In fact the faithful Jews in Christ were relieved of their persecutors when the unfaithful Jews in Jerusalem were destroyed by the Romans. The true Jews finally arrived to their promised new covenant ‘land’ 40 years after Jesus started His Jewish mission work. Complete salvation arrived for the Jews, 70 years after Yeshua was born as a Jew. Their salvation was followed by the second death of the unfaithful in the land. Unbelievers retreated behind old covenant city walls and clung to their old dirt while Jesus took all His cleansed people to their new covenant promised land. None of the elect people of God perished in their guilt when Jesus destroyed His old place. The new head of the house provided a clean conscience for His resurrected humanity.
The end of the old house coincided with their second judgement to death. Their second judgement was for their second 490-year occupation in the land. All who claimed they were living good enough under old covenant law were judged by that law in AD70. Old covenant hold-outs lived and died during the 4th kingdom era, which was the Roman one. Only believing Jews participated in their fulfilment as the kingdom rulers. Jews who tried to remain in their flesh and blood covenant did not see or enter the kingdom of God that Jesus spoke of as being at hand. Life in God’s Kingdom requires rebirth. Flesh and blood could not and did not inherit the kingdom of God. The authority to rule in God’s kingdom was given back to God’s people: the true Jews. The approaching kingdom was also being called the kingdom of heaven, since its authority was coming down from heaven and being kept incorruptible by the One in charge.
Luke 13:31-35
LITV 31 In the same day, certain Pharisees came saying to Him, Go out and go on from here, for Herod desires to kill you. 32 And He said to them, Going, say to that fox, Behold, today and tomorrow I cast out demons and I complete cures, and the third day I am perfected. 33 But today and tomorrow and on the following day I must travel on. For it is not possible for a prophet to perish outside Jerusalem. 34 Jerusalem! Jerusalem! The one killing the prophets, and stoning those having been sent to her, how often I desired to gather your children in the way a hen gathers her brood under the wings, and you did not desire it . 35 Behold, “your house is left” to you “desolate”. Jer. 22:5 And truly I say to you, You shall not at all see Me until it come when you say, “Blessed is the One coming in the name of the Lord.” Psa. 118:26
Jeremiah 22:5
LITV 5 But if you will not hear these words, I swear by Myself, says Jehovah, that this house shall become a ruin.
After Jesus was tested by the devil for 40 days and nights He returned to Jerusalem in the power of the Holy Spirit to minister to the Jews in the flesh. Those Jews who attributed Jesus’ obvious display of power to the devil, were as upside down as ever can be. They in effect said Jesus was empowered because He accepting the deal with the devil in the wilderness. In reality Jesus’ powerful ministry came after rejecting the devil’s offers. Those who think the confusion between who is a man and who is a woman is a new low are wrong. It may be low for our dying culture, but there is no new all time low. Claiming that the Holy Spirit is the devil was the all time low insult. Jesus was speaking to His own people who were still in their old covenant when He issued His most severe warning in return. Those old covenant inhabitants who rejected the Holy Spirit were choosing to become permanently unforgivable. Blasphemers were being judged and condemned already, before AD70. This warning was never issued to the Jews in their new covenant. It was only a warning for the Jews while in their old covenant.
John 3:18
LITV 18 The one believing into Him is not condemned; but the one not believing has already been condemned, for he has not believed into the name of the only begotten Son of God.
These words, as recorded by John, came from the prophet Jesus. Jesus wasn’t just a Jewish prophet but He obviously did prophesy and all His predictions came true. He prophesied to His brethren in the land. His message eventually left the land and was applied to all the other nations as well. It was the good news of escaping the universal condemnation that was being applied to everybody. This imminent condemnation on all unbelievers started with the house of Yahweh.

1 Peter 1:1-7
CLV 1 Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the chosen expatriates of the dispersion of Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, the province of Asia, and Bithynia, 2 according to the foreknowledge of God, the Father, in holiness of spirit, for obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: May grace and peace be multiplied to you!” 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Who, according to His vast mercy, regenerates us into a living expectation, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from among the dead, 4 for the enjoyment of an allotment incorruptible and undefiled and unfading, kept in the heavens for you, 5 who are garrisoned by the power of God, through faith, for salvation ready to be revealed in the last era, 6 in which you are exulting; briefly at present, if it must be, being sorrowed by various trials, 7 that the testing of your faith, much more precious than gold which is perishing, yet, being tested by fire, may be found for applause and glory and honor at the unveiling of Jesus Christ,
Romans 2:28-29
LITV 28 For he is not a Jew that is one outwardly, nor is circumcision that outwardly in flesh; 29 but he is a Jew that is one inwardly, and circumcision is of heart, in spirit, not in letter; of whom the praise is not from men, but from God.
About 600 years before Paul defined Jewish circumcision as spiritual, Jeremiah had told the Jews in the land that they were about to be judged and condemned to die via Babylon. 70 years later, Babylon would be condemned for attacking God’s covenant people. God judged Babylon via the Assyrians. Then the Assyrians would be condemned to die via the Egyptians, then the Egyptian kingdom would die via Rome. The kingdom of heaven was taken from typical Jews and given to the true Jews became spiritual. Even the news about the first typical destruction wasn’t all doom and gloom. The good news to the Jews before Christ was that they could return when 70 years were fulfilled. 70 years after Jesus was born God consummated their new covenant and ended their old covenant.
Persecution from the unbelieving Jews was considered the Judgment that started with the house of God. Believing Jews were told to consider it pure joy like discipline from a loving Father. It was not a judgement to destruction that believing Jews were suffering at the hands of unbelieving Jews, but rather as a father’s discipline unto life. After 70 years were fulfilled by the new King of the kingdom, then came the fulfillment of every type, which included the destruction of those God used as an adversary to His people. God did not promise a third 490 years in the old covenant land. Their number was now up. Typical numbers were all being fulfilled in the Messiah from heaven.
All the kingdoms had experienced their typical judgements for oppressing God’s people. All nations became accountable to the humanity made known to them. Infiltration into the Gentile nations by way of the 12 tribes in diaspora opened the eyes of all the nations to a universal guilt and condemnation. The authorities of the final Roman Kingdom actually acted more humane than the unfaithful Jews did. The Jews falsely condemned the true humanity in Yeshua, as Pilate tried to distance himself from their obvious guilt. Pilate didn’t willingly cooperate with the Jews in the land who desired to murder the King of the Kingdom He said was near.
After Jesus’ resurrection, the condemned Jews desired to murder any Jew who spoke too much about escaping the coming condemnation by following Jesus. Before the final judgement came from the eternal King, a Roman beast did emerge. Nero is pictured as the most unjust and most beastly king of all four gentile kingdoms. Nero was the beast from the sea who persecuted Christians, not the beast from the land. What king Nero did to Jesus’ followers was not more evil than what the old land Jews did to Jesus Himself. Jesus equated the two when teaching the Jews. If the first century government in Jerusalem wasn’t human then it was some kind of a beast. When the ‘humane’ government kills innocent humans then it has become a monster. All nations gathered to finally destroy the inhumane beast in the land.
Matthew 25:40
CLV 40 And, answering, the King shall be declaring to them, ‘Verily, I am saying to you, In as much as you do it to one of these, the least of My brethren, you do it to Me.'”
Jeremiah 25:11-38
LITV 11 And this whole land shall be a waste and a horror; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years. 12 And it shall be, when seventy years are fulfilled, I will punish the king of Babylon and that nation, and the land of the Chaldeans, for their iniquity, says Jehovah; and I will make it everlasting ruins. 13 And I will bring on that land all My words which I have spoken against it, all that is written in this book which Jeremiah has prophesied against all the nations. 14 For many nations and great kings will lay service on them, even they. And I will repay them according to their deeds, and according to the work of their own hands. 15 For so says Jehovah, the God of Israel, to me. Take the wine cup of this wrath from My hand and cause all the nations to whom I shall send you to drink it. 16 And they shall drink, and reel to and fro, and be maddened, because of the sword that I will send among them. 17 Then I took the cup from Jehovah’s hand and made all the nations drink, those to whom Jehovah had sent me: 18 Jerusalem, and the cities of Judah, and their kings, and their rulers, to make them a ruin, a horror, a hissing, and a curse, as it is this day; 19 Pharaoh, king of Egypt, and his servants, and his rulers, and all his people; 20 and all the mixed people, and all the kings of the land of Uz, and all the kings of the land of the Philistines, and Askelon, and Gaza, and Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod, 21 Edom, and Moab, and the sons of Ammon, 22 and all the kings of Tyre, and all the kings of Sidon, and the coastal kings beyond the sea, 23 Dedan, and Tema, and Buz, and all who cut the corners of their beards, 24 and all the kings of Arabia, and all the kings of the mixed people who dwell in the desert, 25 and all the kings of Zimri, and all the kings of Elam, and all the kings of Media, 26 and all the kings of the north, far and near, each one to his brother, and all the kingdoms of the world which are on the face of the earth; and the king of Sheshach shall drink after them. 27 So you shall say to them, So says Jehovah of Hosts, the God of Israel: Drink, and be drunk, and vomit, and fall, and do not rise up, because of the sword which I will send among you. 28 And it shall be, if they refuse to take the cup from your hand to drink, then you shall say to them, So says Jehovah of Hosts, You shall certainly drink. 29 For, behold, I begin to bring evil on the city on which is called My name, and shall you be found entirely without guilt? You shall not be without guilt. For I will call for a sword on all the inhabitants of the earth, says Jehovah of Hosts. 30 And now you prophesy against them all these words, and say to them, Jehovah shall roar from on high and utter His voice from His holy habitation; He shall mightily roar over His dwelling place. He answers with a shout, like those who tread out the grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth. 31 A roaring will go to the ends of the earth, for Jehovah has a controversy with the nations. He will enter into judgment with all flesh; He will give the wicked to the sword, says Jehovah. 32 So says Jehovah of Hosts, Behold, evil is going from nation to nation, and a great tempest shall be stirred up from the corners of the earth. 33 And the slain of Jehovah shall be at that day from one end of the earth even to the other end of the earth. They shall not be mourned, nor gathered, nor buried; they shall be as dung on the face of the earth. 34 Howl, O shepherds, and cry, and roll, O leaders of the flock! For the days of your slaughter and of your scatterings are fulfilled, and you shall fall like a desirable vessel. 35 And refuge has perished from the shepherds, and escape from the leaders of the flock. 36 The sound of the cry of the shepherds, and the howling from the leaders of the flock will be heard . For Jehovah is spoiling their pasture. 37 And the peaceful folds are devastated, because of the glow of the anger of Jehovah. 38 Like the young lion, He has left His den; for their land is a waste because of the glow of the oppressor, and because of His glowing anger

LITV 7 So that you became examples to all those believing in Macedonia and Achaia. 8 For the Word of the Lord sounded out from you not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith toward God has gone out, so that there is no need for us to have to say anything. 9 For they themselves announce concerning us what kind of entrance we have to you, and how you had turned to God from the idols, to serve the true and living God, 10 and to await His Son from Heaven, whom He raised from the dead, Jesus, the One delivering us from the wrath to come.
2 Thessalonians 1:7-10
LITV 7 and to give you, those being troubled, relief with us at the revelation of the Lord Jesus from Heaven with angels of His power, 8 in flaming fire giving full vengeance to those not knowing God, and to those not obeying the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, Isa. 66:15; Jer. 10:25 9 who will pay the penalty: everlasting destruction from the face of the Lord, “and from the glory of His strength,” Isa. 2:20 10 when He comes to be glorified in His saints, and to be admired in all those who believe in that Day, because our testimony to you was believed.
After Jesus fulfilled the 70 years came the second death of Jerusalem. Jesus punished the oppressors of His people in AD70. We mark our new human creation as year one of our calendar. In order to reverse of the curse of the exile, Jesus started ‘building’ the new temple the first year He was born into humanity. His body is the new covenant temple that houses the image of Yahweh. The typical temple was a copy of the true one in heaven. Worship of Jesus is not idol worship because He is not a copy of the true. He is the true and He is back in heaven where He belongs.
Maybe if we actually had a picture of Him we could turn it into idol worship. Some people would imitate His physical appearance at any cost. The true image of Yahweh came out of heaven as the real thing. Jesus is not a copy of the real thing in heaven. He is not an object to be worshipped. He is the one true imager. Jesus heads up the image of the new house. Everyone in the kingdom grows up to love and imitate Him. The new house will never be deserted by Jesus. He keeps His house incorruptible in heaven. His imagers to the nations are His chosen people from each and every generation.
The first generation of the new covenant was the regeneration of the typical nation. Those in the regeneration of the Jews were saved from the unregenerate nation left dying in disbelief. Most people still don’t believe it because they actually don’t see it. Actualization of the complete image of God living in His people was fulfilled when the Jews received the indwelling of Yahweh by way of the Holy Spirit sent by the Son from heaven. That actualization was the engagement that led to their permanent marriage covenant with Yahweh. The true first born husbandman of the redeemed (by remarriage to Yahweh) Jews will not corrupt or desert His household. The fallen angels were able to corrupt old covenant humanity in its immature stage of development. The fullness of humanity in Christ is incorruptible. He grew up under law to get His people out of their condemnation. Condemnation was scheduled to take place after the fulfillment of their second 490 years in the land. Jesus’ 70 years saved the true Jews from being exiled again. The true Jews were in covenant after the transition from their copies to their reality.
God answers Daniel: Seventy “sevens” have been decreed. Not only will Jerusalem be rebuilt and restored, but God will send His Messiah, sin and transgressions will be finished, disobedience will be atoned for, prophecies will be finished, and righteousness will last forever.
Hebrews 8:1-10 Written to the Hebrew believers scattered throughout the nations
LITV 1 Now a summary over the things being said: We have such a High Priest, who sat down on the right of the throne of the Majesty in Heaven, Psa. 110:1 2 Minister of the Holy of Holies, and of the true tabernacle which the Lord pitched, and not man. 3 For every high priest is set in place to offer both gifts and sacrifices; from which it is necessary for this One also to have something which He may offer. 4 For if indeed He were on earth, He would not even be a priest, there being those priests offering gifts according to the Law, 5 who serve the pattern of and shadow of heavenly things, even as Moses was divinely warned, being about to make the tabernacle: For He says, “See that you make all things according to the pattern shown to you in the mount.” Ex. 25:40 6 But now He has gotten a more excellent ministry, also by so much as He is a Mediator of a better covenant, which has been enacted on better promises. 7 For if that first was faultless, place would not have been sought for a second. 8 For finding fault, He said to them, “Behold, days are coming, says the Lord, and I will make an end on the house of Israel and on the house of Judah; a new covenant shall be, 9 not according to the covenant which I made with their fathers in the day of My taking hold of their hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they did not continue in My covenant, and I did not regard them, says the Lord. 10 Because this is the covenant which I will covenant with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord, giving My laws into their mind, and I will write them on their hearts, and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.”

LITV 3 As His divine power has given to us all things pertaining to life and godliness through the full knowledge of the One calling us through glory and virtue, 4 by which means He has given to us the very great and precious promises, so that through these you might be partakers of the divine nature, escaping from the corruption in the world by lust.
Ephesians 2:10 – and also to the Gentiles
LITV 10 for we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God before prepared that we should walk in them.
Good works are done in the new covenant now. The old covenant ended after the worst old covenant works ever. It wasn’t the good works of the Jews that caused their covenant transition. It was the good works of the One Jew that made it happen. He loved them into the new covenant and they loved Him back. The Jews were first people spiritually empowered to join in on the good works of their Messiah. The 12 tribes scattered were next. Then they worked with Him all the way through His 40-year-long grace period. They reigned in their millennium with Him.
The Jews joined him in His Holy Spirit empowerment even in His old covenant ministry. He empowered them to go out and witness to their old covenant land. The 40 year trek was time enough for all His people to hear about and accept His grace. The body was being regenerated during the transition from one land to the other. All God’s people left “Egypt” for the promised land of Heaven. Jesus turned it all around for all His chosen people before He ended their old covenant life. He turned their unfaithful hatred into the love He has for His people. His chosen ones all loved Him back by joining Him in His covenant transition work. He gave His covenant life to His people. His people left Jerusalem to find all His chosen ones who were scattered throughout the nations. The Jews were uniquely qualified to propagate the good news inside and outside of Jerusalem. They had a network of followers throughout the Roman Empire. The followers of the Jews had sabbath schools in every city. The were not Sunday schools. As long as the old covenant existed the Day was still being fulfilled. Paul still preached to God’s people on typical sabbath days.
1 John 1
LITV 1 We [plural] announce to you [plural] what was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we beheld, and what our hands touched, as regards the Word of Life. 2 And the Life was revealed, and we have seen, and we bear witness, and we announce to you the everlasting [age-enduring] Life which was with the Father, and was revealed to us. 3 We announce to you what we have seen, and what we have heard, that you also may have fellowship with us. And truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son, Jesus Christ. 4 And we write these things to you, that your joy may be full. 5 And this is the message which we have heard from Him, and we announce to you: God is light, and no darkness is in Him, none! 6 If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and we walk in darkness, we lie and are not practicing the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of His Son Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin. 8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous that He may forgive us the sins, and may cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.
The old covenant Jews represented all people in general. Any group of people would have acted similarly if placed in covenant with Yahweh under old covenant law. It is only in the new covenant rebirth that we the people are saved from self destruction. We all need to be born again to be saved. Salvation for all races of people came through the Jews. Not because Jews were better or worse, but because they were chosen. The chosen ones personally announced the good news to every race of people.
John wrote the letter we call First John, as if he was speaking for the whole body of Jews who actually witnessed to Jesus in the land. “We” seems to specifically represent God’s chosen people who were in the old covenant land when Jesus ministered to them. God’s originally chosen ones were announcing to the extended church body what only first hand witnesses in the land knew from the beginning. The church had grown into a much larger body of believers by the time John wrote this. The church body still contains the original people of God who actually saw God in flesh and blood. So “we” as the original church in Jerusalem is still today the true Jews who are still today the foundation of the new covenant church body.
We as a contemporary church body do know the good news that was from the beginning, but we were not the firsthand witnesses in the flesh. The firstfruit Jews are not here anymore to write down their transition story or correct misinterpretations. His story telosed their story. His story completed their Bible. Scripture was completed by the Jews at the ending of the second 490 years back in the land. Jews are no longer writing scripture. According to Daniel that’s the real-time story.
If scripture wasn’t sealed in time, then it is still open for more additions today. The redemption of God’s chosen people is 2000+ years old History. Their redemption was still future to Daniel. Covenant redemption fully arrived at the end of the new beginning, not the end of time. It was the end of the 490 years of allotted old covenant time. Not the end of all time. There is still time and always will be as far as I can see. As long as time exists we are present in it. Now is all there is for us. Some of God’s creation temporarily exist in God’s created time. Time is forever for the time-contained people of God.
Annihilation is the end of time only for those who perish. People in the new covenant creation never perish. The new covenant is always ‘now’ just like the old was, until it wasn’t. The Old Covenant’s slow death ended in AD70. We are not dead and dying in the never ending kingdom of the new covenant. When Jesus described it to Nicodemus, the preeminent teacher of the a Jews in the old covenant heard from the true Master. God’s born again people were the only ones who would live to see the kingdom. All God’s people have been born again now.
The Jews in Jerusalem were the first to be born from above. The first century church was the firstfruit generation. People today who are born again are not called the firstfruit of the new covenant harvest. We are not waiting for the firsthand Jewish witnesses to complete their work of the harvest today. God was waiting for the Jews to complete the harvest before AD70 arrived. Since so many Jews in the flesh were too preoccupied with their old covenant way of life, the wedding hall was filled up by the responsible Jews who turned to evangelize the nations. The faithful Jews turned away from the unfaithful Jews in the flesh and reached out to the Gentiles. The Jews were building the new covenant temple with Yeshua now. They reigned in their covenant millennium with Him. The Gentiles weren’t counting down their second 490 years in the land. The Jews were counting down to the finish. The last word they heard was that they were not finished yet.
Malachi 3:5-6
CLV 5 Then I will come near to you for judgment, and become a hastening witness against the enchanters and against the adulterers, and against those who are swearing in My name to falsehood, and against those extorting the hire of the hireling, and those tyrannizing over the widow and taunting the orphan, and turning aside the sojourner, and do not fear Me, says Yahweh of hosts.” 6 For I, Yahweh your Elohim, do not alter; and you, sons of Jacob, are not finished.”
Malachi 4
YLT 1 For, lo, the day hath come, burning as a furnace, And all the proud, and every wicked doer, have been stubble, And burnt them hath the day that came, Said Jehovah of Hosts, That there is not left to them root or branch, 2 And risen to you, ye who fear My name, Hath the sun of righteousness—and healing in its wings, And ye have gone forth, and have increased as calves of a stall. 3 And ye have trodden down the wicked, For they are ashes under the soles of your feet, In the day that I am appointing, Said Jehovah of Hosts. 4 Remember ye the law of Moses My servant, That I did command him in Horeb, For all Israel—statutes and judgments. 5 Lo, I am sending to you Elijah the prophet, Before the coming of the day of Jehovah, The great and the fearful. 6 And he hath turned back the heart of fathers to sons, And the heart of sons to their fathers, Before I come and have utterly smitten the land!
Acts 13:26-51
YLT 26 `Men, brethren, sons of the race of Abraham, and those among you fearing God, to you was the word of this salvation sent, 27 for those dwelling in Jerusalem, and their chiefs, this one not having known, also the voices of the prophets, which every sabbath are being read—having judged him —did fulfil, 28 and no cause of death having found, they did ask of Pilate that he should be slain, 29 and when they did complete all the things written about him, having taken him down from the tree, they laid him in a tomb; 30 and God did raise him out of the dead, 31 and he was seen for many days of those who did come up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are his witnesses unto the people. 32 `And we to you do proclaim good news—that the promise made unto the fathers, 33 God hath in full completed this to us their children, having raised up Jesus, as also in the second Psalm it hath been written, My Son thou art—I to-day have begotten thee. 34 `And that He did raise him up out of the dead, no more to return to corruption, he hath said thus—I will give to you the faithful kindnesses of David; 35 wherefore also in another place he saith, Thou shalt not give Thy kind One to see corruption, 36 for David, indeed, his own generation having served by the will of God, did fall asleep, and was added unto his fathers, and saw corruption, 37 but he whom God did raise up, did not see corruption. 38 `Let it therefore be known to you, men, brethren, that through this one to you is the forgiveness of sins declared, 39 and from all things from which ye were not able in the law of Moses to be declared righteous, in this one every one who is believing is declared righteous; 40 see, therefore, it may not come upon you that hath been spoken in the prophets: 41 See, ye despisers, and wonder, and perish, because a work I—I do work in your days, a work in which ye may not believe, though any one may declare it to you.’ 42 And having gone forth out of the synagogue of the Jews, the nations were calling upon them that on the next sabbath these sayings may be spoken to them, 43 and the synagogue having been dismissed, many of the Jews and of the devout proselytes did follow Paul and Barnabas, who, speaking to them, were persuading them to remain in the grace of God. 44 And on the coming sabbath, almost all the city was gathered together to hear the word of God, 45 and the Jews having seen the multitudes, were filled with zeal, and did contradict the things spoken by Paul—contradicting and speaking evil. 46 And speaking boldly, Paul and Barnabas said, `To you it was necessary that first the word of God be spoken, and seeing ye do thrust it away, and do not judge yourselves worthy of the life age-during, lo, we do turn to the nations; 47 for so hath the Lord commanded us: I have set thee for a light of nations—for thy being for salvation unto the end of the earth.’ 48 And the nations hearing were glad, and were glorifying the word of the Lord, and did believe—as many as were appointed to life age-during; 49 and the word of the Lord was spread abroad through all the region. 50 And the Jews stirred up the devout and honourable women, and the first men of the city, and did raise persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and did put them out from their borders; 51 and they having shaken off the dust of their feet against them, came to Iconium,
Acts 18:5-6
YLT 5 And when both Silas and Timotheus came down from Macedonia, Paul was pressed in the Spirit, testifying fully to the Jews Jesus the Christ; 6 and on their resisting and speaking evil, having shaken his garments, he said unto them, `Your blood is upon your head—I am clean; henceforth to the nations I will go on.’
Acts 28:28-31
YLT 28 `Be it known, therefore, to you, that to the nations was sent the salvation of God, these also will hear it;’ 29 and he having said these things, the Jews went away, having much disputation among themselves; 30 and Paul remained an entire two years in his own hired house, and was receiving all those coming in unto him, 31 preaching the reign of God, and teaching the things concerning the Lord Jesus Christ with all boldness—unforbidden.
Salvation went to the Jews first. Their new covenant made the firstfruit Jews undefeatable in their mission.
