Tamed And Untamed Animals
Mark 1:13 ECB and there he is, in the wilderness forty days, tested of Satan; and is with the wild beasts and the angels minister to him. In Daniel 7:17 the four wild beasts are lion, bear, leopard and dragon and they are identified as 4 kings and 4 kingdoms. In Revelation 13:2 Satan incorporates all 4 wild beasts. Did a talking reptile tempt Jesus in the wilderness? See Matt 4:10-11, Luke 4:1. Did a talking reptile tempt Eve in the garden? See Genesis 3:1. Paul fought wild beasts in Ephesus – 1 Corinthians 15:32.
See https://www.gotquestions.org/Satan-serpent.html for reasonable reasons to believe it was a real snake talking to Eve in the garden of Eden. George Soros is a real snake.
Was it really animals that Adam was suppose to tame as the original great commission? See James 3:7. Did Adam really consider every animal for a wife? Daniel really was thrown into a den of lions. God Himself let or caused the wild beasts to tear up His disobedient people.
Leviticus 26:21-22 KJV 21 And if ye walk contrary unto me, and will not hearken unto me; I will bring seven times more plagues upon you according to your sins. 22 I will also send wild beasts among you, which shall rob you of your children, and destroy your cattle, and make you few in number; and your high ways shall be desolate. [Babylon the lion was sent by God as an old covenant law curse for the disobedience of His typical people.]
Darius captured wild animals to serve as capital punishment executioners. Daniel disobeyed the king of Persia in order to remain faithful to God. Like Pilot, Darius was pressured by the status quo mob to sentence a faithful Jew to death. Daniel portrays the 4 Gentile kings or kingdoms as 4 wild beasts. The Babylonians conquered the unfaithful Jews like a lion. The lions were tame to the faithful Jew named Daniel. Jesus was not eaten by the wild beasts in the wilderness. Paul was poisoned by the snake and lived. Acts 28:1-5, James 3:7-8 to Jews, Matt. 28:18-20 to Jews
Daniel 7:5KJV 5 And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh. [the complete human body has 24 ribs] 3 ribs return to the land in the teeth of Darius on his side. The same Greek word for side in the LXX version of Genesis 2:21 is used in John 19:34 for Jesus’ side and in Acts 12:7 for Peters side. Peter is told 3 times to rise up and eat all the animal creations. The 4th beast devours all the land with iron teeth. Did Peter really eat the nations? Depends on what you mean by really.
Animals in the book of Daniel represent people or people groups and every one of the twelve tribes is represented by an animal. Yeshua is called a lamb and a lion. He is a tame lamb to His faithful people. God brings lions to tear up His enemies. God sent a lamb without blemish to save His chosen people. The original tempter was called a serpent. In the book of Jonah, the cattle repented in sackcloth and ashes. Adam named the animals, not finding a suitable wife, who was later deceived by the talking reptile. I went to high school with ‘The Fighting Cardinals’. Do you believe I went to school with birds or Catholic officials? Are Americans the first people on earth to represent people groups with animals? Was Adam’s commission to tame the actual animals? Can animals represent people groups in Genesis chapter one too. Was Adam supposed to humanize the nations? James 3:7 – For every nature of wild beasts, reptiles, birds and from the sea is being tamed and has been tamed to the nature of the human. Jesus even gained the trust of the real animals (the colt) raised by humans; Luke 19:35-36.
Even animal sacrifices represented humans. A typical lamb was killed in the place of the firstborn until the human it represented arrived. Jesus is the real Lamb of God who saved the first born from perishing.
Jeremiah 31:27ECB 27 Behold, days come, – an oracle of Yah Veh that I seed the house of Yisra El and the house of Yah Hudah with the seed of humanity and with the seed of animal [Like with the Ninivites, the Gentiles reformed alongside the Jews before AD 70. The Ninevites were allied with the Hebrews in language and blood].
Hosea 2:18-19YLT 18 And I have made to them a covenant in that day, with the beast of the field, And with the fowl of the heavens, And the creeping thing of the ground, And bow, and sword, and war I break from off the land, And have caused them to lie down confidently. 19 And I have betrothed thee to Me to the age, And betrothed thee to Me in righteousness, And in judgment, and kindness, and mercies, [new covenant] see Gen. 9:8-10
Lion of Babylon is a stone sculpture, over 3,600 years old, that was found in the ancient city of Babylon, Iraq. The statue may have been commissioned by the Chaldean Babylonian king Nebuchadnezzar II, but most experts now believe it is of Hittite origin, made during a Hittite occupation of the city. From Wikipedia [If older, then the lion was their national image before Daniel was written.]
Daniel 7:2-7 – Thomson 2 I Daniel beheld, and lo! the four winds of heaven blew violently on the great sea; 3 and four great beasts came up out of the sea, different one from the other. 4 The first was like a lioness, and had wings like those of an eagle. I beheld till her wings were plucked off; and she was raised from the earth and stood on the feet of a man and a man’s heart was given her (see Daniel 4:15-17) 5 And behold the second beast was like a bear; and it stood half erect and there were three ribs in its mouth between its teeth, and they said to it thus, “Arise, devour much flesh.” 6 After this I looked, and lo! another beast like a leopard; and it had four wings of a bird on it; and this beast had four heads and to it dominion was given. 7 After this I beheld, and lo! a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, exceedingly strong and its teeth of iron! It devoured and brake in pieces! and the residue it trampled with its feet. Now this was far different from all the beasts which were before it and it had ten horns. [Isaiah 43:19-20 – Jacob being blessed in the wilderness with the animals is a new thing. See James/Jacob 1:1 blessing the 12 tribes in the wilderness.]
The bear did not swallow the last 3 tribes. The fourth beast did: the dragon with the iron teeth. The dragon, who tempted the woman to bring the knowledge of good and evil into her body, tried to devour her offspring. He was prophesied to crush him. The dragon was released to devour the old covenant under law after the millennial jubilee (law) was fulfilled in the Messiah. Moses promised curses to those under law. Jesus made a safe plantation for His chosen people before Satan was finally released. See Jer. 31:22 LXX
Revelation 12:4LITV 4 and his tail drew the third part of the stars of the heaven, and he throws them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman being about to bear, so that when she bears he might devour the child. [Fulfilled by king Herod’s decree, not an actual talking dragon.]
