The Day That Didn’t End

First Adam did not complete his day. He did not live to the age of 1000. He was cut short by 70 years and put to repose in Sheol. He died in the day he ate. Adam did not complete his day alive, but Jesus overcame the death of Adam on the tree. You can’t know anything worse or better than Jesus’ death in the place of Adam. Jesus died that day. Eschaton Adam died on the tree and was resurrected as the new man who would never die. The day of Adam became the Day Of The Lord.

Genesis 2:17

ECB 17 and of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, eat not: for in the day you eat thereof, in dying, you die.

Genesis 3:22

CLV 22 And saying is Yahweh Elohim, “Behold! The human becomes as one of us, knowing good and evil. And now, lest he stretch forth his hand, moreover, and take of the tree of the living, and eat and live for the eon–! [or to the age]

Genesis 5:5

LITV 5 And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years. And he died.

Adam did not complete his day. He died during it. He was put to repose in Sheol. It was a judgement in a sense, since only those who failed to live up to God’s law went there, but it was also a place where final judgement was temporarily put on hold. By God’s grace, judgment day waited for the messiah to lay down His Spirit-filled life and go there.

The day of Adam was put on hold at 930 years of age, but humanity’s day would resume with the birth of the eschaton Adam. Jesus came to redeem His people from the death of Adam before the never-ending day was allowed to take hold. Spiritual death in Adam or spiritual life (via Jesus’ resurrection) was made permanent. The day of Adam was fulfilled in Christ.

Jubilees 4:29-30:

…he was the first to be buried in the ground.  He lacked seventy years of one thousand years, for a thousand years are one day in the testimony of heaven. Therefore it is written about the tree of knowledge: “For on the day you eat from it, you shall die.” Therefore he did not complete the years of this day because he died during it.

“day” here is interpreted as a 1000 years. That belief was familiar among early Jews/Christians, not just the writer of The Book of Jubilees. One day indicates an epoch or more specifically in today’s parlance, a millennium.

When Jesus was born He indeed took up where Adam left off. Adam was driven out of the garden into the wilderness. At about 30 years of age, Jesus was driven out of Jerusalem by the Holy Spirit. He didn’t fall for the devil in the wilderness and so reentered the land to start His ministry. At about 33.5 years of age He enabled His people to join His spiritual life by putting eschaton Adam to death and then being raised as the first born of a new covenant. He then continued where eschaton Adam left off but in a new covenant with a new name. He was no longer Adamson. The only begotten of God became first born of resurrected humanity, without genealogy. 40 days later He ascended and continued to reign-in humanity from heaven. At 70 years from His human birth He reigned in the millennium that Adam missed by 70 years. At that time, the first born nation was celebrating their millennial Jubilee. But the nation also needed 70 years to redeem them from their second failed 490 years in the land.

The prophetic 7th day of the Genesis creation account is the only day that has no evening and morning because it is the never-ending target day. Only God entered true rest from His works because only God completed 6 days that culminated in the pronouncement, “very good” (work). God rested because of His work week integrity. God begat a human Son by way of the Holy Spirit in order to do very good works as a 6th day human. Jesus then enabled His people to join in on His very good work, by sending them the same Holy Spirit that empowered Him as a man. They received enablement on their national day of birth. Jesus’ first birthday was as Adam’s son in the Fall of the year. But His death and 3rd day resurrection fulfilled the nation leaving Egypt in the Spring. Pentecost fulfilled the nation receiving the law in the Summer (50 days later).

The messiah took Adam and the nation to His never-ending life. By the creative Holy Spirit, the Hebrews became a new creation nation. They were enabled to be a very good work in Christ in order to enter His 7th day with integrity. The first birth of Adam and Jesus coincided with the time of year when Moses’ said to start sabbaticals. Jesus was born in the seventh month according to Moses’ calendar. He would start His new creation in the first month when God created the nation. Jesus came to marry the nation in a new creation. He was resurrected in the first month: Nisan. The new marriage was in the 7th month: Tishri.

The 6th day repose of humanity in Hades was taken off hold when Jesus was born into the old creation. Jesus was born to take up where Adam left off. God’s never-ending sabbath still remained to be entered when Hebrews was written to the Hebrews in the diaspora. Adam lacked 70 years of 1000 (to finish his day), but how do the 20 Jubilees add up to 1000? Are they each counted as 49 or 50 years?

Jubilees 4:29 And at the close of the nineteenth jubilee, in the seventh week in the sixth year [930 A.M. Anno Mundi is Latin for: in the year of the world] thereof, Adam died, and all his sons buried him in the land of his creation, and he was the first to be buried in the earth.

In The Book of The Jubilees, each Jubilee was a count of seven years seven times. Half way into the 49th national year of Israel (in the seventh month), a Jubilee year was declared. I don’t know if Adam knew anything about Jubilees. All I know is the writer of Jubilees put Jubilee dates on Adam and his ancestors, according to his Hebrew understanding. Accordingly, Adam was born at the time of year in which Jubilee years began for the Hebrew nation. Sabbaticals and Jubilees were typical marriage renewals, in the typical new creation calendar of Moses. New creation types were all fulfilled by the new covenant. Even circumcision was a new creation type. The actual new creation was the new covenant.

Jubilee years were Noahic calendar years. God had told Moses that Nissan would be the first month of the year for the new-born nation, not Tishri, because they left Egypt on Nissan 15th. They rested on the third day (Nissan 17th) for a First fruit offering as a new nation. The 15th was the first day out of Egypt. The 16th was the second day and the 17th was the third day. Noah had also experienced a type of new creation for his family. On day 17 of the his 7th month (Nisan) the ark rested. Since the 7th month for Noah became the 1st month for Moses, Jubilee years were a reminder to the Jews of their transition from the Noahic calendar years. The Jews didn’t have two calendars: one Noahic and one Mosaic. They only revisited their pre-creation calendar in Egypt every 7th year. Even so, sabbaticals were said to start in the 7th month of the year not the first month of the year. They had to continually renew their first marriage year in the land until it was finally fulfilled by the Holy Spirit betrothal and marriage. By faith in God they rested every 7th sabbatical year while the marriage was renewed again. It was a rehearsal for the spiritual rebirth and eternal marriage of the 20th Jubilee which amounts to 1000 years of failure in the flesh. Flesh and blood did not inherit the kingdom. The reborn Jews did. The day of the Lord was the eternal blessing to the reborn Jews.

Genesis 8:4,13

YLT 4 And the ark resteth, in the seventh month [Nissan 17], in the seventeenth day of the month, on mountains of Ararat; 13 And it cometh to pass in the six hundredth and first year, in the first month [Tishri 1], in the first of the month, the waters have been dried from off the earth; and Noah turneth aside the covering of the ark, and looketh, and lo, the face of the ground hath been dried.

Noah’s ark typically rested on the renewed land on the same day Jesus would be resurrected: Nisan 17th. Noah had removed the cover from the ark sometime in the month of Tishri. Noah received a renewed covenant of grace and God promised not to destroy the land (people) by a flood again. The rainbow was an old covenant sign of that grace. Yet, Noah and his sons all died in spiritual death and went to Hades. In Jesus’ land renewal, He promised Jewish believers that they would never die. Jesus reformed the Jewish heart in His image and granted them life to the age. They were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise. Jesus promised it to the Jews. In the new covenant, the Sun, moon and stars are no longer used to keep the festivals. The 7 rehearsal feasts were all fulfilled along with the sign and the promise of the rainbow. Typical humanity was renewed again with even better promises. Spiritual life to the age was a better promise than no more biological death by another flood during the age that has since ended.

Genesis 8:20-22

CLV 20 And building is Noah an altar to Yahweh Elohim, and taking is he of every clean beast, and of every clean flyer, and is offering up ascent offerings on the altar. 21 And smelling is Yahweh Elohim a restful smell. And saying is Yahweh Elohim to His heart, “Not any more will I slight further the ground [‘ădâmâh, ground] for the sake of humanity [‘âdâm], for the form of the human [‘âdâm] heart is evil from its youth. Neither again will I smite further all living flesh, as I have done. 22 In the future, all the days of the earth [‘erets, land] seedtime and harvest, and cold and warmth, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease [shâbath].

Exodus 12:1-2

CLV 1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and to Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying. 2 This month [Nissan] shall be for you the beginning of months. It shall be the first for you of the months of the year.

Sabbath years count the 7th month as the first sabbatical-year month, therefore counting the sabbaticals reminded the Jews of the old Noahic calendar. But God still called the start of a sabbatical year the 7th month, which indicated the new Mosaic calendar. God promised to bless the 6th year crop that was planted in the Spring for the sabbatical year that started that Fall. It was God’s enablement that allowed them to remain in His sabbath rest and not plant again the following Spring. In the Spring of the 6th (Noahic) year they planted. The following Spring in the second half of the 7th (Noahic) year they did not plant. The 8th year was planted again. Sabbath years were from Tishri to Tishri rather than Nisan to Nisan. In Tishri (fall) of the 8th (Noahic) year they started to prepare the land for planting again. Jesus first birth and His first baptism were in Tishri. His second baptism and His rebirth were in Nisan.

Leviticus 25:21-22 – concerning sabbatical years

CLV 21 I will enjoin My blessing for you in the sixth [Noahic] year, and it will give the yield for three years. 22 While you sow in the eighth year you will eat from the yield in storage until the ninth year. Until its yield comes in you shall eat from the storage.

According to Hebrew recounting, Adam died during the 7th week of years in the count to a Jubilee. Jubilee years were Noahic (also called Adamic) years. 1 week of years is 7 years. 2 weeks of years is 14 years. 7 weeks of years is 49 years, which was a Jubilee year. During the 7th week of years is somewhere between the 43rd and 49th years. We are told Adam died in the 6th year of that week of years. That would be year 48 in the count to 49 on the Noahic calendar.

If Adam died at the close of the 19th Jubilee. He almost counted to 49 for the 19th time. 19 x 49 = 931. Adam died in the year 930: one year short of the 19th count to 49, since the creation of humanity. The original sabbatical for the nation of Israel was the first Noahic year that the Hebrews spent in the promised land. It was the first year off, after the marriage to the land. After the battles of Ai and Jericho, Joshua read the law to everyone in the fall, which started the first sabbatical year in the land. But it was not year one in the first count to 49. The initial sabbatical was added after counting to the first 49. They started counting to jubilee after the first sabbatical year was over. After a year and a half in the land, they started counting to their first 49, to reach 50 actual Noaic years in the land. According to the Mosaic calendar they were then 50 1/2 years in the land.

If Jubilee years were additional years then 19 x 50 would equal 950 and Adam would have been 949 not 930 when he died. Jubilees are 50th year celebrations in the 49th year, because they always returned to the same never-ending sabbath. They didn’t count from 49 to 98 or from 50 to 100 to get to the second Jubilee. They start over at 1 as if they were really starting over.

The first count to 49 really was 50 years in the promised land because they added in the original sabbatical year. That’s why they start the count from 1 to 49 again after the 7th sabbatical returned them to the restart of the original sabbatical. At least they were supposed to return to the original sabbatical every 49th year. There is no record that they ever did. It was supposed to keet them free and at out of debt so they could truly rest. But they couldn’t trust God and stop working; not so good. In fact after 490 years God held them accountable for not keeping any of the 70 sabbaticals, 10 of which were Jubilee sabbaticals.

When Hebrews was written to the Hebrews they were still in their good-work transition from the old to the new covenant: aka the fulfillment exodus from slavery and fulfillment journey to the promised land. Their national rebirth was the re-engagement. It was the enablement promise sent by Christ. It was the gift of the indwelling Holy Spirit. That indwelling image of God was preparing them for the marriage to the spiritual promised land. Jesus went to prepare a place for His people to join Him in the spirit realm of heaven. Jesus was born as Adam in the Fall and born again as the Law-of-Christ man in the Spring. He fulfilled the transition of calendars into the everlasting new creation nation. That is why we date our calendars today from His birth. The church is the new creation nation. The transition of covenants is complete.

Hebrews 4:7-11

LITV 7 He again marks out a certain day, saying in David, Today (after so long a time, according as He has said), “Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts.” LXX-Psa. 94:7, 8; MT-Psa. 95:7, 8 8 For if Joshua gave them rest, then He would not have afterwards spoken about another day9 So, then, there remains a sabbath rest to the people of God. 10 For he entering into His rest, he himself also rested from His works, as God had rested from His own. LXX-Psa. 95:11, Gen. 2:2 11 Therefore, let us exert ourselves to enter into that rest, that not anyone fall in the same example of disobedience.

Nobody spiritually dies today and goes to Sheol like Adam, Moses, Joshua or David did in the old covenant. Jesus took His people to a better day than they did. There can be no better place to grow up than in the never dying day of Christ. He took the Adamic body to His age alive. Dying you shall dye became living you shall live. That should inspire us to do our best work. We are in the spiritually living body of Christ not the spiritually dead body of Adam. Even Adam had to be rescued from his not so very good works and enter the very good works of God. On the sixth day God said it was very good and He rested on the seventh day. Jesus made the work within humanity very good.

We can grow up and learn to see the true rest we have from our insufficient works without second guessing our secure family status. We are in the never-ending day of Christ. He reigned in the day of Adam and Israel by way of His spirit realm resurrection of the body. The last days of the old covenant body transitioned into the eternal new covenant body by the Holy Spirit regeneration. The enablement of the Holy Spirit blessed the transition of covenants work. The family of God was secured in Jesus’ day.

The end is over. There has never been a better ending. The Holy Spirit did not re-generate a new flesh and blood body in order to enter the eternal promised land and live forever. That was how the old covenant people entered the typical promised land. The typical promised land did not last forever. The eternal promised land is the spirit realm creation that Jesus went to prepare in His Father’s house in heaven; also pictured as the New Jerusalem extending from the realm of heaven into the realm of earth.

Angels don’t have flesh and blood bodies there. Will we rule over angels in heaven with reconstituted earthbound bodies? Angels can take on earthly bodies to visibly and materially interact with us so we can see them and understand them from our realm, without being terrified by a supernatural body. They sometimes do enter a flesh and blood body to serve us that way. Spirit realm bodies have supernatural abilities to do that.

Jesus returned to the glory He had before taking on a flesh and blood body. He humbled Himself that way to complete the day of humanity so we could go be where He is in heaven rather than repose in Hades. We seem to picture Him today as if He’s on another physical planet in a physical 5’5″ Jewish body. Heaven is another realm that we cant see into with a telescope. The picture of New Jerusalem extending to earth is a crossover picture, just as heavenly visions or angels appear to us with human bodies, because we cant even imagine heavenly bodies. Heaven surpasses the realm of physics we are understandably familiar with. It is supernature. It is superior to mother nature, not the same as but still familiar enough.

Daniel is one of the places the last day foretellers go to predict when the last day of the old covenant will be. The grace period is the unknown. The time after the messiah was cut off in the middle of the last week until the marriage and the destruction is the unknown. It not only delayed the end of the old marriage covenant but the consummation of the new too. How long was or is that grace period? Most people look more at the words of Jesus rather than Daniel. Daniel mentions a lengthening of days of the 2 beasts from the land and sea but Jesus Himself says nobody but the Father knows the day and the hour. This is in keeping with His Hebrew marriage metaphor: Jesus went to prepare a place in the Father’s house until the Father says it’s ready. When Jesus said the day and the hour He made it clear He was talking about a 24 hour day by then referring to the hour of that day as unknown. He didn’t say He didn’t know the year.

Daniel 9 speaks about the timing of the new covenant, when atonement is made and sacrifices cease. He places it in or after the last week of the 20th Jubilee. Daniel prophesied about the second 490 years count as a nation. Oddly enough the Hebrews date the death of Adam the same way. Adam dies in the last week of the 19th count to a Jubilee. Jesus dies in the last week of the 20th Jubilee count.

Adam lacked 70 years from 1000. But Adam was only 50 years away from the 20th Jubilee. The 20 times Adam would have returned to God’s original sabbath (in the fall of the 49th year) don’t count as calendar years when counting to 1000.

Jesus died when He was 36.5 years away from the redemption of old covenant humanity, if counting to 70 years from His birth. 33.5 + 36.5 = 70. It was unexpected to me that the 50th year of a Jubilee doesn’t count as a real year. The never-ending original sabbath is the one they returned to every 49th year in the fall. It was only a genuine calendar year as the first year in the typical land. So it is only a genuine never-ending day in the fulfillment, at the arrival to the spiritual promised land.

Eternal life is in heaven. God’s people do already have eternal life while temporarily on earth, but all God’s children leave their flesh and blood body and go to heaven to be with the Lord. We don’t go to Hades because He is not in the old creation place of repose. That grace time is over. Salvation is complete.

Taking on a flesh and blood body was His humiliation. He returned to the glory He had with His Father. He made the way for us and even made the place for us to join Him in His Father’s house in heaven. The 1000 year day of Adam was taken off hold and transitioned into the never-ending day of the Lord. Adam is no longer in Hades (put on hold by God’s grace) waiting.

Romans 13:10-13

ECB 10 Love works no evil to his neighbor: so love is the fulness/shalom of the torah. Exodus 20:13-17, Leviticus 19:18 11 And this: knowing the season, that it is already the hour to rise from sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we trusted. 12 The night advances, the day approaches: so put off the works of darkness and endue the weapon of light. 13 Walk decorously as in the day; not in carousing and intoxication; not in coition and lechery; not in contention and zeal;

The hour of the season is not the same as the hour of the day. Paul was obviously not saying he knew the hour that Jesus said nobody knew. Besides that the hour would have passed before anyone read Romans.

Romans 13:11

KJV 11 And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.

Salvation is of the Jews. Jesus was of the Jews. The gospel and the Holy Spirit birth went to them first not last. They are the foundation of the church not an add on. There is only one body of Christ. There is only one gospel. Jews reluctantly let Gentiles join their new covenant church. Jewish Peter asked, Who can argue with the Holy Spirit who is saving Gentiles just like us Jews? Jesus combined the exodus and the jubilee motifs by taking 40 years to set His people free from bondage before continuing where He left off reading in Isaiah. The Spirit of the Lord was upon Jesus for 3.5 years and then on His people for 33.5 years to deliver them from the old covenant to the new.

Luke 4:18-19

LITV 18 ” The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me. Because of this He anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me” to heal the brokenhearted, “to preach remission to captives and new sight to the blind,” to send away the ones having been crushed in deliverance, 19 “to preach an acceptable year of the Lord.” Isa. 61:1, 2

Isaiah 61:1-2

CLV 1 The spirit of My Lord Yahweh is on Me, because Yahweh anoints Me to bear tidings to the humble. He sends Me to bind up the broken hearted, to herald to captives, liberty, and, to the blind, the unclosing of the eyes, and, to the bound, to take the jubilee, 2 to herald an acceptable year for Yahweh, and a day of vengeance for our Elohim. To comfort all mourners,
