The Passover lamb was selected on Nisan 10th.

Exodus 12:2-3

ECB 2 This month is the head of months to you – the first month of the year to you: 3 word to all the witness of Yisra El, saying, In the tenth of this month every man take a lamb, for the house of their fathers – a lamb for a house:

The lamb was killed between the two evenings of Nisan 14th. It would be nonsense to say kill it between 6PM and 6PM on Nisan 14th.

Exodus 12:6

LITV 6 And it shall be for you to keep until the fourteenth day of this month. And all the assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it between the evenings (settings).

The sun begins to set at what we call high noon and begins another setting at 6PM. Prior to high noon the sun was trekking skyward. After noon it begins it’s trek to even-with or flatten-to the ground. The two daily evenings converge at 6PM. Between 12 and 6 is 3.

6AM is generally the first hour of daylight to us. 12 hours earlier at 6PM was the first hour of night. In both cases our 6th hour is their first hour in the bidaily 12-hour count. So when the Bible says Jesus died at the 9th hour that is 3PM to us. 9-6=3 or 9+6=15. 3PM is called the 15th hour in military time. We are actually 6 hours behind the Sun’s timetable since the biblical day begins at dusk and we don’t start our day till midnight. It make more sense to align the first hour of the bidaily counts to 12 with the departure and arrival of the Sun. Then our daylight and our night would be 1 to 12 rather than 6 to 6.

Mark 15:33,34,37

JuliaSmith 33 And being the sixth hour, darkness was upon the whole earth till the ninth hour. 34 And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a great voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, for what hast thou forsaken me?  37 And Jesus having let go a great voice, expired. (This was a supernatural darkness starting in the middle of the day and lasting for three hours just prior to Jesus’ departure. The darkness ended when His suffering for humanity’s sin ended.)

Jesus went to Hades @ 3PM Nisan 14th, mixing our hour with their month.

Matthew 12:40

LITV 40 And even as “Jonah was in the belly of the huge fish three days and three nights,” so shall the Son of man be in the heart of the earth three days and three nights. Jon. 1:17

Jonah calls his 3 day experience, “the belly of sheol” (3 days in the unseen). God saved Jonah from death.

Jonah 2:1-2

LITV 1 And Jonah prayed to Jehovah his God out of the belly of the fish. 2 And he said, I cried out to Jehovah from my distress. And He answered me. Out of the belly of Sheol I cried for help, and You heard my voice.

God also saved David from death. At death the soul goes to sheol (also called hades).

Psalms 86:12-14

LITV 12 With all my heart I will thank You, O Lord my God; and I will glorify Your name forevermore. 13 For Your mercy toward me is great; and You have delivered my soul from the lowest Sheol. 14 O God, the proud have risen against me; and the troop of the violent have sought after my life, and have not set You before their eyes.

As Jonah’s body was not digested by the whale, Jesus’ body did not decay in the tomb.

Acts 2:27

CLV 27 For Thou wilt not be forsaking my soul in the unseen (hades, sheol), Nor wilt Thou be giving Thy Benign One to be acquainted with decay.”

Jesus’ body was placed into the tomb right before dusk as the great sabbath of Passover was about to begin.

Matthew 27:57-60

YLT 57 And evening having come, there came a rich man, from Arimathea, named Joseph, who also himself was discipled to Jesus, 58he having gone near to Pilate, asked for himself the body of Jesus; then Pilate commanded the body to be given back. 59 And having taken the body, Joseph wrapped it in clean linen, 60 and laid it in his new tomb, that he hewed in the rock, and having rolled a great stone to the door of the tomb, he went away;

Even the chronological order of “three days and three nights” matches the chart above. Jesus died in the daytime and was resurrected in the night. The tomb was found to be empty already as one of the sabbaths dawned.

Luke 24:1-2

CLV 1 Now in the early depths of one of the sabbaths, they, and certain others together with them, came to the tomb, bringing the spices which they make ready.” 2 Now they found the stone rolled away from the tomb.
