The Never-Ending, Retroactive Sabbath Day

If the day of the Lord wasn’t retroactive then only post-cross people were given eternal life. We know that Jesus gave life to the age to all Jewish believers and destruction to the age to the Jewish unbelievers. But even Abraham rejoiced to see the day of the Lord according to the Jewish Messiah Himself. Obviously the day of the Lord meant eternal life for Abraham too. The retroactive millennial day of the Lord could even save original Adam. We are now over 2000 years into the never-ending day of the Lord. Some things and some people did perish at the end/fulfilment of the old covenant age.

John 10:24-28

YLT 24 the Jews, therefore, came round about him, and said to him, `Till when our soul dost thou hold in suspense? if thou art the Christ, tell us freely.’ 25 Jesus answered them, `I told you, and ye do not believe; the works that I do in the name of my Father, these testify concerning me; 26 but ye do not believe, for ye are not of my sheep, 27according as I said to you: My sheep my voice do hear, and I know them, and they follow me, 28 and life age-during I give to them, and they shall not perish—to the age, and no one shall pluck them out of my hand;

Revelation 22:5

YLT 5 and night shall not be there, and they have no need of a lamp and light of a sun, because the Lord God doth give them light, and they shall reign—into the ages of the ages

The day of the Lord consummated the covenant transition with destruction for the sons of disobedience who remained in the old covenant and healing for the sons of faith who moved into the new covenant. Covenant relationship with God has been healed. We are not in a covenant with failed headship. Joshua (Yeshua) defeated the last enemy. The death of Adam no longer holds God’s people. The body of Christ that lived into the age, continues to live forever. The fate of the new covenant body was sealed by the millennial consummation of both Adam and the nation.

The body of Adamic headship died into the age. Those in the old covenant stayed in the body of Adam for their combined millennial consummation into the second death; Adam and Israel. The second death was exclusively for those who rejected the resurrection of Christ. The new creation humanity was given spiritual life by way of the life-giving Spirit that was sent to the nation, from heaven. 1 Corinthians 15 calls Jesus the second human (anthropos). In the old covenant Jesus often called Himself the son of Adam. He became the eschaton Adam or the consummation Adam before He died. He grew up in the old covenant to stand in the full image of His Father under law.

Adam was a type of Him who was about to be. Jesus alone could complete the typical age alive as a son of Adam. Adam’s typical age was 930 years old when Jesus was born. So He put the old covenant man to death as the eschaton Adam so He would be resurrected into a new covenant with a new name. He started a new creation that continued where He left off in the old. In the new covenant the life of Christ rules, rather than the death of Adam. so His people could rule in the millennium with Him in His name. They couldn’t do it in Adam’s name. Jesus sent that unearned spiritual life to the Jews while they were celebrating the typical birth of their nation. They were born from above by the eternal life sent by their messiah. That corporate body is still alive today because it never dies. The church sealed it’s thousand year fate alive. At the same time, the death of Adam and the holding place of the dead ones in Adam were both destroyed, in the same day of the Lord. Everyone finished the thousand year day of Adam and Israel in AD 70. Those in Christ finished it spiritually alive.

Revelation 20:14-15

THE SENTENCE OF DEATH AND HADES/SHEOL
And death and Hades/Sheol are cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15
THE SENTENCE OF THE UNHOLY
And if any are not found scribed in the scroll of life they are cast into the lake of fire.

Malachi 4:1-3

THE DAY OF YAH VEH
For behold, the day approaches that inflames as an oven; and all the arrogant, yes, and all who work wickedly, become stubble: and the day that approaches burns them, says Yah Veh Sabaoth, that it leaves them neither root nor branch. 2
THE SUN OF JUSTNESS
And to you who fear my name, the Sun of justness rises with healing in his wings; and you go, and grow as calves of the stall: 3 and you trample the wicked; for they become ashes under the soles of your feet, in the day I work, says Yah Veh Sabaoth.

2 Peter 3:8-9

ECB 8 But beloved, hide not from this: that one day with Yah Veh is as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day. 9 Yah Veh is not slack concerning his pre-evangelism as some deem slackness; but is patient to us, who wills that not any destruct, but that all pass to repentance.

Just as some born again Jews may have remained in the land and physically died in AD 70, some of God’s chosen people may have disobeyed and perished during God’s judgement on Noah’s generation. Jesus may have even proclaimed victory over the death of those who disobeyed in the days of Noah while the ark was being built. They were already condemned to die for their disobedience so they didn’t need to hear that. Even the eight who were saved on the boat were still spiritually dead and in Hades. They were only typically saved from biological death. And that was temporary since they all died and went to Hades anyway. Jesus didn’t go to the place of the dead ones to condemn His already condemned people did He? They were already stuck in the place of the dead ones. He went to rescue them from their seemingly permanent spiritual death. The gates of the spiritually dead didn’t stop the life-giving Holy Spirit. The new covenant ecclesia was built on old covenant people who were being resurrected from the death of Adam and the death of the family of God.

Matthew 16:18

ECB 18 And I also word to you, that you are Petros/Rock: and on this rock/petra I build my ecclesia; and the gates of sheol/hades overpower it not:

The ark was a type of water rebirth. After the humans entered the new covenant (ark) the animals also entered. Peter’s sheet vision was the invitation from heaven to the animals. The humans boarded first. The Holy Spirit saved the Jew from the coming judgement, then the Gentiles also boarded. They typically boarded by twos to assure their corporate body would live on, but there is only one corporate body living in the new covenant. The two onboard are Christ and His bride. The animals became human. Nobody in the new covenant is unclean. All are in the body of Christ. Peter reluctantly accepted the born from above Gentiles into His national body. The body of Christ became international.

Acts 10:9-15

CLV 9 Now, on the morrow, as they are journeying and drawing near the city, Peter went up on the housetop to pray about the sixth hour of the day.” 10 Now he became ravenous and wanted to taste food. Now, while they are preparing it, an ecstasy came on him, 11 and he is beholding heaven open and a certain utensil descending, as a large sheet, with four edges, being let down on the earth, 12 in which belonged all the quadrupeds and reptiles of the earth and the flying creatures of heaven. 13 And a voice came to him, “Rise, Peter! Sacrifice and eat!” 14 Yet Peter said, “Far be it from me, Lord, for I never ate anything contaminating and unclean!” 15 And again, a second time, a voice came to him, “What God cleanses, do not you count contaminating!”

God began to add gentiles to the Jewish only nation of Christ.

Acts 11:15-17

15 And as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit came upon them, just as it came upon us at the origin, 16 and I remembered what the Lord said, He said, John indeed did baptize with water, but you (plural you) shall be being baptized in the Holy Spirit; 17 if then the equal gift God did give to them just as also to us, I believing on the Lord Jesus Christ (and what He said would happen to us), how was I able to withstand God (and what God is doing to them)?

James 3:7

CLV 7 For every nature, both of wild beasts and flying creatures, both of reptiles and those of the salt sea, is tamed and has been tamed by human nature.”

Jeremiah 31:27

ECB 27 Behold, days come, – an oracle of Yah Veh that I seed the house of Yisra El and the house of Yah Hudah with the seed of humanity and with the seed of animal.

1 Peter 3:18-22

CLV 18 seeing that Christ also, for our sakes, once died concerning sins, the just for the sake of the unjust, that He may be leading us to God; being put to death, indeed, in flesh, yet vivified in spirit, 19 in which, being gone to the spirits in jail also, 20 He heralds to those once stubborn, when the patience of God awaited in the days of Noah while the ark was being constructed, in which a few, that is, eight souls, were brought safely through water, 21 the representation of which, baptism, is now saving you also (not the putting off of the filth of the flesh, but the inquiry of a good conscience to God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, 22 Who is at God’s right hand, being gone into heaven, messengers and authorities and powers being subjected to Him.”

Romans 6:9

9 knowing that Christ being raised out of the the dead ones dies no more; death no longer lords it over Him (or those living in Him).

The new covenant place of the unseen ones is heaven not Sheol; unseen by earthly eyes anyway. Sheol was a temporary holding place for God’s people who died while spiritually dead, as in the death of Adam. God’s people no longer die while spiritually dead. God’s people are all in the permanent life of Christ.

Jesus is no longer seen by the world He once appeared to. He came to overcome their failure to consummate humanity. He came to realize Adam’s potential to live forever. He came to complete the image of God in Adam in the sixth day of works; represented by the sixth hour in Peter’s vision. The Gentiles also entered the sixth eschatological day that was about to be sevened by the Lord of the sabbath. Day six is not represented as the never-ending day in Genesis. Day seven is. Meanwhile the 12 tribes in diaspora had already laid the foundation work for the 12 apostles to evangelize the nations. God used their work to spiritually incorporate His people into the heavenly city, kept incorruptible in heaven. The full image of God comes to live in born again people only. The old covenant law was the schoolmaster that lead Jews and Gentiles to Christ. Jews first of course.

John 14:19

LITV 19 Yet a little while and the world no longer sees Me, but you see Me. Because I live, you also shall live.

The visible body of Christ (represented by the number 144,000) was persecuted by the old covenant world that was so offended.

Jude 1:14

KJV 14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,

The book of Enoch that Jude quotes from reflects pre-cross Hebrew thought. The Hebrews kept their old creation festivals by counting years, months, weeks, and hours: seventh year and forty-ninth year sabbaticals, first and seventh month festivals, seventh week Pentecost, first hour sabbath and sixth hour passover (midnight) and eight day circumcision that represented the typical new creation. Jesus worked on the old covenant sabbath to heal His people. He didn’t rest until he rescued them. He sacrificed to bring them into His sabbath rest. Sabbath to sabbath is eight days. The first day of the new creation was an eighth day sabbath.

2 Enoch

And I appointed the eighth day also, that the eighth day should be the first-created after my work, and that the first seven revolve in the form of the seventh thousand, and that at the beginning of the eighth thousand there should be a time of not-counting, endless, with neither years nor months nor weeks nor days nor hours.

Adam was made in the sixth day and lived to be 930 years of age. Adam didn’t fulfill his seventh day. Israel was created and lived 490 cursed years twice. The first occupation in the land of Yahweh would have reached 1000 blessed years had they kept their domain. Like Adam all they had to do was not do something to live to be 1000 years old in the land. They were expelled for not resting on the sabbaths. The nation failed to reach their thousand year sabbatical (jubilee). 1/7 of 490 = 70. Every 7th sabbatical is a Jubilee sabbatical. In the fall of Jubilee years the first year was supposed to be recounted. Ten Jubilees is counted as ten additional years. 490 + 10 = 500. 500 x 2 fulfilled the thousand year cursed day of Israel in Yahweh’s typical land.

2 Chronicles 36:21

CLV 21 to fulfill the word of Yahweh in the mouth of Jeremiah, till the land has enjoyed its sabbaths; all the days of the desolation it kept sabbath–to the fulness of seventy years. (this was the first fulfillment and it was fulfilled after the first 490 years of missed sabbaticals)

In AD 70 God’s patient waiting was over. The old covenant was put to rest forever. This was the second national death. The old covenant sabbath became the new creation sabbath. Sabbath rest is in the person of Christ not in a typical day or year or millennium. From His conception to His new creation consummation took 70 years. He is the Lord of the sabbath. He came to rescue Jews from the second 490 year grace period for disobedience in the land. He took 70 years to rescue them from their millennial failure as a nation.

Matthew 18:21-44

YLT 21 Then Peter having come near to him, said, `Sir, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him—till seven times?’ 22Jesus saith to him, `I do not say to thee till seven times, but till seventy times seven23 `Because of this was the reign of the heavens likened to a man, a king, who did will to take reckoning with his servants24 and he having begun to take account, there was brought near to him one debtor of a myriad of talents, 25 and he having nothing to pay, his lord did command him to be sold, and his wife, and the children, and all, whatever he had, and payment to be made. 26 The servant then, having fallen down, was bowing to him, saying, Sir, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all; 27 and the lord of that servant having been moved with compassion did release him, and the debt he forgave him. 28 `And, that servant having come forth, found one of his fellow-servants who was owing him an hundred denaries, and having laid hold, he took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that which thou owest. 29 His fellow-servant then, having fallen down at his feet, was calling on him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all; 30 and he would not, but having gone away, he cast him into prison, till he might pay that which was owing. 31 `And his fellow-servants having seen the things that were done, were grieved exceedingly, and having come, shewed fully to their lord all the things that were done; 32 then having called him, his lord saith to him, Evil servant! all that debt I did forgive thee, seeing thou didst call upon me, 33 did it not behove also thee to have dealt kindly with thy fellow-servant, as I also dealt kindly with thee? 34 `And having been wroth, his lord delivered him to the inquisitors, till he might pay all that was owing to him; 35 so also my heavenly Father will do to you, if ye may not forgive each one his brother from your hearts their trespasses.’

Adam was a type of the about-to-be new creation man. The new covenant husbandman fulfilled Adam’s failed millennial reign with His 70 years. The day of the Lord (of the sabbath) was at hand, as revealed to John during the fulfillment of the Lord’s day.

Revelation 1:1-12

1 The Unveiling of Jesus Christ, which God gives to Him, to show to His servants what must shortly come to pass; and He signifies it, dispatching through His messenger to His servant John, 2 who testifies to the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ, whatever he perceived.” 3Happy is he who is reading and those who are hearing the word of the prophecy, and who are keeping that which is written in it, for the time is at hand.” 4 John, to the seven ecclesias which are in the province of Asia: Grace to you and peace from Him Who is and Who was and Who is coming, and from the seven spirits which are before His throne, 5 and from Jesus Christ, the Faithful Witness, the Firstborn of the dead, and the Suzerain of the kings of the earth. To Him Who is loving us and looses us from our sins by His blood” 6 and makes us a kingdom and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and might for the eons of the eons! Amen!” 7 Lo! He is coming with clouds, and every eye shall be seeing Him-those, even those who pierce Him-and all the tribes of the land shall be grieving over Him. Yea! Amen!” 8 I am the Alpha and the Omega, is saying the Lord God, Who is and Who was and Who is coming, the Almighty.” 9 I, John, your brother and joint companion in the tribulation and kingdom and endurance in Jesus Christ, came to be in the island called Patmos, because of the word of God, and because of the testimony of Jesus Christ.” 10 I came to be, in spirit, in the Lord’s day, and I hear behind me a voice, loud as a trumpet, 11 saying, “What you are observing write into a scroll and send it to the seven ecclesias: to Ephesus and to Smyrna and to Pergamum and to Thyatira and to Sardis and to Philadelphia and to Laodicea.” 12 And I turn about to look for the voice which spoke with me. And, turning about, I perceived seven golden lampstands,

The death that reigned in Adam and everyone else in the old covenant no longer reigns in the new covenant. We have a new creation firstborn human. He will never die again. He already put the old man (Adam) to death in the old covenant.

Romans 5:14

ECB 14 Rather death reigned from Adam to Mosheh, even over them who sinned not after the likeness of the transgression of Adam – who is the type of the one about to be.

The about to be body of God’s chosen people was the body of Christ. The body of Christ now is.

Colossians 2:16-17

CLV 16 Let no one, then, be judging you in food or in drink or in the particulars of a festival, or of a new moon, or of sabbaths, 17 which are a shadow of those things which are impending – yet the body is the Christ’s.

1 Corinthians 12:12-13

CLV 12 For even as the body is one and has many members, yet all the members of the one body, being many, are one body, thus also is the Christ.” 13 For in one spirit also we all are baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and all are made to imbibe one spirit.”

If the typical Joshua (Yeshua) gave the Hebrews rest then the antitypical Joshua (Yeshua) wouldn’t have been necessary. Jesus died for nothing if there wasn’t an ongoing resurrection in the first century church. But how could a seventh day sabbath be an eighth day new creation? Only Jesus entered sabbath rest in the typical land because He was the only begotten. He took His sabbath rest into a new creation. Sabbath to sabbath is eight days. The new creation was not ex nihilo. Jesus took His old covenant work to a new creation. Then He sent the Holy Spirit to began resurrecting the dead ones, guaranteeing spiritual life to the age.

1 Corinthians 15:12-22 (Interlinear modification of YLT)

12 But if Christ is being preached, that out of the dead ones he has been raised, how say some of you, that there is no (present and ongoing) resurrection of dead ones? 13 and if there is presently no resurrection of dead ones then, neither has Christ been raised; 14 and if Christ has not been raised, then void is our preaching, and void also your faith, 15 and we also are found false witnesses of God, because we did testify of God that He raised up the Christ, whom He did not raise if the dead ones are not presently being raised. 16 for if the dead ones are not presently being raised, then neither has Christ been raised, 17 and if Christ has not been raised, then vain is your faith, you are yet in your sins; 18 then, also, those having fallen asleep in Christ were destroyed; 19 if in this life we have hope in Christ only, of all humans we are most to be pitied. 20 But now, Christ has been raised out of the dead ones—he became the first-fruit of the ones having been reposed, 21 for since through humanity is the death, also then through humanity is the resurrection of the dead ones, 22 for even as in Adam all die, so also in the Christ all are being made to live, (to the age and then forever)

Hebrews 4:1-11

LITV 1 Then let us fear lest in any way a promise having been left to enter into His rest, that any of you may seem to come short. 2 For, indeed, we have had the gospel preached to us, even as they also; but the word did not profit those hearing it, not having been mixed with faith in the ones who heard. 3 For we, the ones believing, enter into the rest, even as He said, “As I swore in My wrath, they shall not enter into My rest,” though the works had come into being from the foundation of the world. LXX-Psa. 94:11, MT-Psa. 95:11 4 For He has spoken somewhere about the seventh day this way, “And God rested from all His works in the seventh day.” Gen. 2:2 5 And in this place again, “They shall not enter into My rest.” LXX-Psa. 94:11; MT-Psa. 95:11 6Therefore, since it remains for some to enter into it, and those who formerly had the gospel preached did not enter in on account of disobedience, 7 He again marks out a certain day, saying in David, Today (after so long a time, according as He has said), “Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts.” LXX-Psa. 94:7, 8; MT-Psa. 95:7, 8 8 For if Joshua gave them rest, then He would not have afterwards spoken about another day9 So, then, there remains a sabbath rest to the people of God. 10 For he entering into His rest, he himself also rested from His works, as God had rested from His own. LXX-Psa. 95:11, Gen. 2:2 11 Therefore, let us exert ourselves to enter into that rest, that not anyone fall in the same example of disobedience.

Isaiah 40:7-8

7 Dry is the grass; decayed is the blossom, for the spirit of Yahweh is reversed in it. Surely, grass are the people. 8 Dry is the grass; decayed is the blossom. Yet the word of our Elohim shall be confirmed for the age.

In the church of Jerusalem, Peter confirms Barnabas’ and Paul’s testimony. Peter has seen the Holy Spirit give life to the uncircumcised and unbaptized Gentiles. Jesus’ half brother Jacob joins in on the Jewish affirmation. Jacob (James) is the Jewish pastor of the church in Jerusalem who already commended the 12 tribes for humanizing the Gentiles. Jacob reminds his brethren about God’s promise to incorporate the Gentiles into the new covenant church. Jews shouldn’t enforce on Gentiles the law that even Jews failed to keep. However some concessions were advisable, at least for the sake of unity if not purity. Not only did God promise Gentile inclusion into the spiritual Jewish nation, they saw it happening already. Even in the first exodus many Gentiles joined their typical national body.

For hundreds of years prior to the second exodus, the Gentiles were being pre-evangelized by the Jews. Is it any wonder they then recognize the Jewish messiah just as the new covenant Jews had? They were studying the same scriptures together. With no temple and no homeland, synagogues sprung up in every city all across the Roman empire. The synagogues didn’t go away after a small portion of the tribe of Judah entered the land and saw a temple rebuilt. We see Paul and the apostles and Jesus Himself entering into those synagogues to discuss the scriptures and their messianic prophecies.

Hebrews in diaspora were being referred to as Jews even though they weren’t all from the tribe of Judah. They travelled to Jerusalem for the required festivals in an attempt to keep the requirements of the law. Pentecost was a big gathering since it celebrated their birth as a nation. Pentecost is when the law was received upon the heart of the nation, rather than on stone tablets. The word of Yahweh was confirmed into the age by being written on Jewish and Gentile hearts.

Ezekiel 11:19

ECB 19 and I give them one heart and I give a new spirit within you; and I turn aside the heart of stone from their flesh and give them an heart of flesh:

Ezekiel 36:26

ECB 26 and I give you a new heart and a new spirit I give within you: and I turn aside the stony heart from your flesh and I give you an heart of flesh:

The Word has gone to all nationalities by way of the diaspora of Israel. The typical land has been put to rest. Israel was expelled to cultivate the soil it came from hundreds of years prior to the end of the old covenant age. The new covenant tree of life is spiritual not biological. We don’t need to live to 1000 anymore. It’s been done for us. About half way through His 70 year fulfillment, Yeshua moved His Jewish work from the old covenant into the new covenant creation. He did the work so His people could enter His sabbath rest.

YAH VEH CUTS A NEW COVENANT
Behold, days come, – an oracle of Yah Veh that I cut a new covenant with the house of Yisra El and with the house of Yah Hudah: 32 not according to the covenant I cut with their fathers in the day I held them by the hand to bring them from the land of Misrayim – my covenant which they broke, although I was their master – an oracle of Yah Veh: 33 For this is the covenant I cut with the house of Yisra El: After those days, – an oracle of Yah Veh I give my torah in their inwards and inscribe it in their hearts; and I become their Elohim and they become my people: 34 and no more teaches every man his friend, and every man his brother, saying, Know Yah Veh! For they all know me – from the least of them to the greatest of them – an oracle of Yah Veh for I forgive their perversity and I remember their sin no more.
