Is “the day of the Lord” the same as “the Lord’s day” and “day of Christ”? What about “the day of Yahweh”? “The day of the Lord” appears five times in the Bible, “The Lord’s day” appears only once, “day of Christ” once and day of Jesus Christ” once. And then there’s “the day of LORD” with all caps. It appears 24 times in the KJV. The KJV translators usually replaced God’s Hebrew name “Yahweh” with the title “LORD”, changing “the day of Yahweh” to “the day of the LORD”.

When Moses asked God, “Who do I say sent me?” God said, “Tell them ‘I Am’ has sent you.” EHYEH in Hebrew means I am the one who is and will be. YAHWEH is the Hebrew form of “He is and will be”. Moses said to the people, “He will be” has sent me rather than “I will be” has sent me. That name of Israel’s God appears over 6000 times in scripture. After Moses asks that question, God starts to refer to the Himself as Yahweh. Humanity, as the nation of Israel, called Him Yahweh.

Exodus 6:3

 3 And I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob as God Almighty (El Shaddai), and by My name Yahweh I never made Myself known to them.

When God brought His creations to Adam to see what he would call them, Adam assigned names by observing their characteristics. Adam probably named the species rather than the individuals. Eve was called woman by Adam (out of man) but she also had a personal name (Eve) that meant living, because she would be the mother of all living (humans I presume). The animals were living but not living corresponding to Adam’s life. Adam had a living soul called human. Eve was the living mother of all the living souls called humanity. Genesis 3:20 is after the fall and is hard to translate. Whether Eve was supposed to be the mother of all living before the fall or still was or would be again in the future may all be true in a sense. Her life-to-the-age would be reconciled and completed when the messiah arrived and resurrected humanity to-the-age. New covenant humanity was resurrected from old covenant humanity.

If the firstborn in the resurrected humanity is Jesus than resurrected Eve is the church. Jesus did not take a human bride in the flesh. He took the place of Adam and rescued the dead and dying old covenant humanity as a whole, which was nationally the 12 apostles and the 12 tribes. Those 24 laid the foundation and opened the gates of the spirit realm bride that reaches into our realm. The church carries the image of Christ in heaven and on earth. Laying the new foundation and manning the gates is presented as a masculine job though.

Coincidentally the human body has 24 ribs. The new human body is the New Jerusalem, AKA the new covenant church or the body of Christ. The new covenant church in Jerusalem is not the mother church. Believing Jews fled typical Jerusalem before the destruction of the dead and dying and unfaithful old covenant bride in the flesh. They were united by the Holy Spirit in another realm.

Rome couldn’t be the harlot to God. Rome was never in a marriage covenant with God like the Jews were. When did Rome agree to be faithful to Yahweh and then break her vows to play the harlot ?? It was the Jews who unfaithfully allied with Rome as their protector, not the other way around. Even Rome saw Jerusalem as unfaithful, before destroying her.

Genesis 3:20

Brenton 20 (3:21) And Adam called the name of his wife Life, because she was the mother of all living.

Moses didn’t name the Creator by what he saw with His own eyes. He asks God to name Himself. God does give Himself a Hebrew name for Moses and tells Moses to tell Israel that name. Presumably Moses and all of Israel were allowed to repeat it. Since that time though some people involved in Bible translations have become reluctant to tell God’s people what God told Moses to tell His people. Getting destroyed in the old covenant land had nothing to do with mispronouncing His name. It did have something to do with rejecting the name bearer. Jesus angered the Jews when He applied the name of His Father to Himself. He said, “Before Abraham was, I AM!” Jesus only intensifies the meaning of “I am” in Revelation chapter one.

Revelation 1:7-9

YLT 7 Lo, he doth come with the clouds, and see him shall every eye, even those who did pierce him, and wail because of him shall all the tribes of the land. Yes! Amen! 8 `I am the Alpha and the Omega, beginning and end, saith the Lord, who is, and who was, and who is coming—the Almighty.’
9 I, John, who also am your brother, and fellow-partner in the tribulation, and in the reign and endurance, of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, because of the word of God, and because of the testimony of Jesus Christ;

In scripture, when Jesus (Yeshua) personally addressed God He called Him His Father. When God personally refers to Yeshua He calls Him my Son or My Beloved Son. Jesus as the only begotten by the Holy Spirit was a new creation. In the new creation, those who are born again by the Holy Spirit are also called children of God.

Judgement to destruction was coming to those who insisted on typical circumcision. Circumcision was only a type of a new creation (on the eight day). Circumcision was a picture of the new creation in Christ (fulfilled on the eighth sabbath of Pentecost and eight day of the wedding). It was one of the elements of the law that was about to burn up and was no longer being required.

The Spirit of Christ is said to cry Abba Father, not Yahweh. Jesus was not ashamed to call the born again Jews (and then Gentiles too) His brethren. When His Spirit testifies with our spirit we call God Abba Father with Him. Abba Father is more personal than even Yahweh. Nothing is more personal than Spirit to spirit in God’s new creation family. The one who is and will be becomes Abba Father.

Galatians 4:6

LITV 6 And because you are sons, God sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying, Abba! Father!

Galatians 5:1-10

CLV 1 For freedom Christ frees us! Stand firm, then, and be not again enthralled with the yoke of slavery.” 2 Lo! I, Paul, am saying to you that if you should be circumcising, Christ will benefit you nothing.” 3 Now I am attesting again to every man who is circumcising, that he is a debtor to do the whole law.” 4 Exempted from Christ were you who are being justified in law. You fall out of grace. 5 For we, in spirit, are awaiting the expectation of righteousness by faith.” 6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision is availing anything, nor uncircumcision, but faith, operating through love.” 7 You raced ideally! Who hinders you not to be persuaded by the truth? 8 This persuasion is not of Him Who is calling you. 9 A little leaven is leavening the whole kneading. 10 I have confidence in you in the Lord that in nothing you will be disposed otherwise. Now he who is disturbing you shall be bearing his judgment, whosoever he may be.”

Galatians 6:15-16

15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision is anything, but a new creation.” 16 And whoever shall observe the elements by this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, namely on the Israel of God.”

Who is the Israel of God if not the born again ones? The sheep and goats obviously refers to those who inherit the kingdom and those who don’t. According to the one judging, the only way to inherit the kingdom is to be born again. Jesus came to separate the sheep from the goats.

We associate The day of the Lord with: a trumpet call, a warning, atonement, repentance, salvation, judgement, war, destruction, etc. Typically for Israel, the Feast of Trumpets was the annual call to repentance for God’s people, in order to avoid His judgement to destruction. Old covenant destruction was typically when God allowed other nations to enter and destroy the land. A call to repentance and a sacrifice of atonement was made every year just prior to Tabernacles and then God graciously allowed Israel to live as His people in the land for another year. Sheep and goats were typically in the covenant together. Their are no goats in the new covenant God made with Israel.

A trumpet call was also used as a call to war, by the old covenant leaders in the land. Since the new covenant is in the spiritual realm and God’s new creation people are not called to defend His kingdom in flesh and blood, the final trumpets are sounded by angels in the spirit realm. If God combined and fulfilled all the types: the plagues on Pharaoh for not letting God’s people go, the annual cessation of old covenant feasts, the annual atonement, the 40 year journey to the promised land, the land of Jerusalem being called the Egypt of the final exodus, Jerusalem accountable for all the martyrs, the new covenant people as the new nation, the battle not with flesh and blood, the battle being the Lord’s, God’s patience, the second 490 years of old covenant forgiveness ending, then what did they expect to see? Answer: Most expected more flesh and blood types.

Without question Jesus destroyed the last tribe from the flesh and blood kingdom of God and He did it old covenant style. He sent foreign nations to do it. Without question the Lord brought spiritual life to His people (the Israel of God) who believed and He brought second death to the land of the unbelieving ones. The unbelieving ones persecuted Jesus and His people. Does AD 70 count as the day of the Lord? Is there something in the definition that disqualifies it? Didn’t the people in the land reject the final atonement to the age? Wasn’t the destruction of the old covenant in AD 70 fulfilled in the seventh month after the day of trumpets typically sounded in the land? They rejected God’s sacrifice of His Son for them and God finally rejected their animal sacrifices.

Leviticus 23:24

CLV 24 Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, In the seventh month on day one of the month there shall be a cessation for you with a memorial trumpet blasting, a holy meeting.

While the temple still stood, this annual judgement was covered by God’s grace; once a year in the Fall. The Book Of The Revelation (apocalypse) is about spirit realm trumpet calls that bring destruction to the old covenant fallen ones. This unveiling is addressed to believers who have been redeemed from the fall. Believers are those who are in the new creation family of God with the new first born. They came out from the death of the old first born family. The re-born first born nation was made possible by the re-born first born individual.

The Revelation is written to the seven churches in Asia, not to old Jerusalem. It reveals what is about to happen so the believers can be aware. The time to leave the old covenant first born was ending. In fact Revelation says it had already ended. There was no longer time to repent before the second death, typically seen as the second death of flesh and blood Jerusalem. Only Spirit born people could inherit the kingdom.

Revelation 22:10-12

KJV 10 And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand. 11 He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still. 12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

Jews were told by the Lord Himself to be out of Jerusalem before it was surrounded and destroyed by Roman armies. Jesus then told John to make it known to the churches. The Spirit born people of God are the New Jerusalem. They were anticipating His return for salvation. He returned to His chosen few just as He left them; as the merciful savior of humanity. He returned to the tribes still clinging to the old land in the clouds (plural) completing their destruction. They were already in process of destruction by way of murder, famine and cannibalism before the Roman armies completed it.

The voice addressing the churches sounds like a trumpet. The churches are told to get right before the destruction comes on the unbelievers. They represent the new bride: the Israel of God. The trumpet of God is first heard in Exodus 19:19, when His law first came down from heaven to Israel. The law of Christ came down to them on Pentecost with a mighty roar. A mighty roar by a fierce wind is like a trumpet blast. A trumpet blast was a form of mass communication in that day, to call God’s people to repentance or to war. Both calls were to God’s people in order to avoid destruction; either by repentance and atonement or by putting on armor. Those who were not God’s people were about to be destroyed.

God’s people did hear the noise and God’s chosen people came to repentance at Pentecost. This was after final atonement was made for them on the cross but before the final trumpet blast. This was a grace call. The time for old covenant people to repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ was before Jerusalem was destroyed. Nobody is in the old covenant any more. Those who tried to stay were not His chosen people. The old will not come back and subvert the new. The old was vanishing and near to disappearing while the new was rising. The old covenant isn’t near to reappearing now. That would be a resurrection back into the death of the old covenant. The resurrection was to life in Christ and it started on the nation’s re-birth day. The old was near to disappearing then.

Acts 2

CLV 1 And at the fulfillment of the day of Pentecost they were all alike in the same place. 2 And suddenly there came out of heaven a blare, even as of a violent, carrying blast, and it fills the whole house where they were sitting.”

 6 Now when this sound occurs, the multitude came together and was confused, for each one hears them speaking in his own vernacular.”

16 But this is that which has been declared through the prophet Joel17 And it shall be in the last days,’ (God is saying) ‘I shall be pouring out from My spirit on all flesh, And your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, And your youths visions shall be seeing, And your elders dreams shall be dreaming, 18 And surely on My men slaves and on My women slaves in those days shall I be pouring out from My spirit,’ and they shall be prophesying.” 19 And I will give miracles in heaven above, And signs on the earth below, Blood and fire and vapor pillars of smoke, 20 The sun shall be converted into darkness And the moon into blood ere the coming of the day of the Lord, The great and advent day.” 21 And it shall be that everyone, whosoever should be invoking the name of the Lord, shall be saved.'” 22 Men! Israelites! Hear these words: Jesus, the Nazarene, a Man demonstrated to be from God for you by powerful deeds and miracles and signs, which God does through Him in the midst of you, according as you yourselves are aware -” 23 This One, given up in the specific counsel and foreknowledge of God, you, gibbeting by the hand of the lawless, assassinate, 24 Whom God raises, loosing the pangs of death, forasmuch as it was not possible for Him to be held by it.”

33 Being, then, to the right hand of God exalted, besides obtaining the promise of the holy spirit from the Father, He pours out this which you are observing and hearing.” 34 For David did not ascend into the heavens, yet he is saying, ‘Said the Lord to my Lord, “Sit at My right” 35 Till I should be placing Thine enemies for a footstool for Thy feet.”‘” 36 Let all the house of Israel know certainly, then, that God makes Him Lord as well as Christ – this Jesus Whom you crucify!” 37 Now, hearing this, their heart was pricked with compunction. Besides, they said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “What should we be doing, men, brethren? 38 Now Peter is averring to them, “Repent and be baptized each of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the pardon of your sins, and you shall be obtaining the gratuity of the holy spirit.” 39 For to you is the promise and to your children, and to all those afar, whosoever the Lord our God should be calling to Him.” 40 Besides, with more and different words, he conjures and entreated them, saying, “Be saved from this crooked generation!” 41 Those indeed, then, who welcome his word, are baptized, and there were added in that day about three thousand souls.”

46 Besides persevering day by day with one accord in the sanctuary, besides breaking bread home by home, they partook of nourishment with exultation and simplicity of heart, 47 praising God and having favor for the whole people. Now the Lord added those being saved day by day in the same place.

Salvation came to Jesus’ brethren. His people were born again. He sent the promised Holy Spirit to the Jews. Their national birthday became their national re-birthday. Hebrews 8:10 confirms it. The final atonement was made first for the Hebrews. The new covenant was first made with the Hebrews.

Hebrews 8:10-13

LITV 10 Because this is the covenant which I will covenant with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord, giving My laws into their mind, and I will write them on their hearts, and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.” 11 “And they shall no more teach each one his neighbor, and each one his brother, saying, Know the Lord; because all shall know Me, from the least of them to their great ones. 12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousnesses, and I will not at all remember their sins and their lawless deeds.” LXX-Jer. 38:31-34; MT-Jer. 31:31-34 13 In the saying, New [covenant], He has made the first [covenant] old. And the thing having been made old and growing aged is near disappearing.

The final trumpets are a warning to new covenant believers that plagues and war are coming to old covenant unbelievers. Happy was the one who was reading and hearing the words of the prophecy. Wailing were the tribes of the land who didn’t see it coming until it was too late.

Revelation 1

YLT 1 A revelation of Jesus Christ, that God gave to him, to shew to his servants what things it behoveth to come to pass quickly; and he did signify it, having sent through his messenger to his servant John, 2 who did testify the word of God, and the testimony of Jesus Christ, as many things also as he did see. 3 Happy is he who is reading, and those hearing, the words of the prophecy, and keeping the things written in it—for the time is nigh! 4 John to the seven assemblies that are in Asia: Grace to you, and peace, from Him who is, and who was, and who is coming, and from the Seven Spirits that are before His throne, 5 and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the first-born out of the dead [ones], and the ruler of the kings of the earth; to him who did love us, and did bathe us from our sins in his blood, 6 and did make us kings and priests to his God and Father, to him is the glory and the power to the ages of the ages! Amen. 7 Lo, he doth come with the clouds, and see him shall every eye, even those who did pierce him, and wail because of him shall all the tribes of the land. Yes! Amen! 8 `I am the Alpha and the Omega, beginning and end, saith the Lord, who is, and who was, and who is coming [to marry the new covenant church and destroy the old covenant church]—the Almighty.’ 9 I, John, who also am your brother, and fellow-partner in the tribulation, and in the reign and endurance, of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, because of the word of God, and because of the testimony of Jesus Christ; 10 I was in the Spirit on [on here is exactly the same word as in the Spirit] the Lord’s-day, and I heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet, saying, 11 `I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last;’ and, `What thou dost see, write in a scroll, and send to the seven assemblies that are in Asia; to Ephesus, and to Smyrna, and to Pergamos, and to Thyatira, and to Sardis, and to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea.’ 12 And I did turn to see the voice that did speak with me, and having turned, I saw seven golden lamp-stands, 13 and in the midst of the seven lamp-stands, one like to a son of man, clothed to the foot, and girt round at the breast with a golden girdle, 14 and his head and hairs white, as if white wool—as snow, and his eyes as a flame of fire; 15 and his feet like to fine brass, as in a furnace having been fired, and his voice as a sound of many waters, 16 and having in his right hand seven stars, and out of his mouth a sharp two-edged sword is proceeding, and his countenance is as the sun shining in its might. 17 And when I saw him, I did fall at his feet as dead, and he placed his right hand upon me, saying to me, `Be not afraid; I am the First and the Last, 18 and he who is living, and I did become dead, and, lo, I am living to the ages of the ages. Amen! and I have the keys of the hades and of the death. 19 `Write the things that thou hast seen, and the things that are, and the things that are about to come after these things;

Jesus is the First and the Last who died and then lived to the age. Not only to the age but into the ages of the ages. His day did not end at the 1000 years judgement. He not only lived to the age but became the judge of all. He is still living. His day is still the eternal day.

He is the first to be born out of the dead ones. He was raised into the new covenant creation that never ends. The same Holy Spirit that raised Him out of the dead ones raised His brethren from the old covenant death of Adam and Israel. They being were called to join the Body of Christ and live to the age of 1000 with Him. They reigned in the endurance of Christ to the 1000 years age. The millennium was the culmination of both Adam and Israel. It was the transition into the Day of the re-born first born. Adam died in his day. Israel died in her day. Those who chose the death of Adam and Israel over the resurrected life of Christ would see their second 490 year destruction in AD 70.

The Day of the Lord appears five times in scripture:

Acts 2:20 (YLT)
the sun shall be turned to darkness, and the moon to blood, before the coming of the day of the Lord—the great and illustrious;

1 Corinthians 5:5 (YLT)
to deliver up such a one to the Adversary for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

2 Corinthians 1:14 (YLT)
according as also ye did acknowledge us in part, that your glory we are, even as also ye are ours, in the day of the Lord Jesus;

1 Thessalonians 5:2 (YLT)
1 And concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need of my writing to you, 2 for yourselves have known thoroughly that the day of the Lord as a thief in the night doth so come, 3 for when they may say, Peace and surety, then sudden destruction doth stand by them, as the travail doth her who is with child, and they shall not escape; 4 and ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that the day may catch you as a thief; 5 all ye are sons of light, and sons of day; we are not of night, nor of darkness,

2 Peter 3:10 (YLT)
and it will come—the day of the Lord—as a thief in the night, in which the heavens with a rushing noise will pass away, and the elements with burning heat be dissolved, and [land] earth and the works in it shall be burnt up.

1: The sun darkens and the moon becomes blood.

2: The adulterous man in the church of Corinth should stop following his flesh by then.

3: The church of Corinth should get unified by then.

4: The church in Thessalonica shouldn’t be surprised by the destruction they see.

5: Those in the land lost all their wealth because they refused to wake up. Jerusalem was burnt up by fire. The New creation Jerusalem was consummated at 1000 but the old creation was destroyed at 1000. Heaven is where Jesus went to prepare a place for humanity to be where He is. Heaven and earth were spiritually joined together in the day of the age. Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to prepare His people to join Him in reigning in His day.

2 Peter 3:18

YLT 18 and increase ye in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ; to him is the glory both now, and to the day of the age! Amen.

“Day of Christ” appears once and “day of Jesus Christ” once.

In the Hebrew scripture, the meaning of this phrase refers to judgement more often than salvation: such as an invasion by a foreign army, the capture of a city or some other suffering sent by God due to the bad behavior of the inhabitants. That is what happened to the obstinate unbelievers in AD 70. They remained in Jerusalem because they rejected the gracious salvation God sent to them and didn’t believe His warning. They rejected God’s Word that was entrusted to them.

Amos 5:18

CLV 18 Woe to those yearning for the day of Yahweh! Why will this be a day of Yahweh for you? It will be darkness, and not light,

The day will be darkness not light because all Israel sinned. Their darkness turned into everlasting darkness for some but everlasting light for those in the resurrection. The new creation starts in the dark too. The resplendent Morning Star brought in His everlasting Day to the Hebrew believers who were born from above, starting in Jerusalem on Pentecost.

Revelation 22:16

CLV 16 I, Jesus, send My messenger to testify these things to you in the ecclesias. I am the root and the race of David, the resplendent morning star.”

The cross was the preliminary Judgement Day of the wrath of Yahweh in the place of Israel. At the cross that judgement day became dark too. The darkness turned into the morning light of the re-born firstborn. That passover sacrifice of Christ was extended to the firstborn nation until AD 70. The resurrected firstborn nation covered in the blood of the lamb was not destroyed. The slave masters were destroyed.

Joel 2:1-32

YLT 1 Blow ye a trumpet in Zion, And shout ye in My holy hill, Tremble do all inhabitants of the earth, For coming is the day of Jehovah, for it is near! 2 A day of darkness and thick darkness, A day of cloud and thick darkness, As darkness spread on the mountains, A people numerous and mighty, Like it there hath not been from of old, And after it there is not again—till the years of generation and generation. 3 Before it consumed hath fire, And after it burn doth a flame, As the garden of Eden is the land before it, And after it a wilderness—a desolation! And also an escape there hath not been to it, 4 As the appearance of horses is its appearance, And as horsemen, so they run. 5 As the noise of chariots, on the tops of the mountains they skip, As the noise of a flame of fire devouring stubble, As a mighty people set in array for battle. 6 From its face pained are peoples, All faces have gathered paleness. 7 As mighty ones they run, As men of war they go up a wall, And each in his own ways they do go, And they embarrass not their paths. 8 And each his brother they press not, Each in his way they go on, If by the missile they fall, they are not cut off. 9 In the city they run to and fro, On the wall they run, Into houses they go up by the windows, They go in as a thief. 10 At their face trembled hath the earth, Shaken have the heavens, Sun and moon have been black, And stars have gathered up their shining. 11 And Jehovah hath given forth His voice before His force, For very great is His camp, For mighty is the doer of His word, For great is the day of Jehovah—very fearful, And who doth bear it? 12 And also now—an affirmation of Jehovah, Turn ye back unto Me with all your heart, And with fasting, and with weeping, And with lamentation. 13 And rend your heart, and not your garments, And turn back unto Jehovah your God, For gracious and merciful is He, Slow to anger, and abundant in kindness, And He hath repented concerning the evil. 14 Who knoweth—He doth turn back, Yea—He hath repented, And He hath left behind Him a blessing, A present and libation of Jehovah your God? 15 Blow ye a trumpet in Zion, Sanctify a fast—proclaim a restraint. 16 Gather the people, sanctify an assembly, Assemble the aged, Gather infants and sucklings of the breasts, Go out let a bridegroom from his inner chamber, And a bride out of her closet. 17 Between the porch and the altar weep let the priests, ministrants of Jehovah, And let them say: `Have pity, O Jehovah, on Thy people, And give not Thy inheritance to reproach, To the ruling over them of nations, Why do they say among peoples, Where is their God?’ 18 And let Jehovah be zealous for His land, And have pity on His people. 19 Let Jehovah answer and say to His people, `Lo, I am sending to you the corn, And the new wine, and the oil, And ye have been satisfied with it, And I make you no more a reproach among nations, 20 And the northern I put far off from you, And have driven him unto a land dry and desolate, With his face unto the eastern sea, And his rear unto the western sea, And come up hath his stink, And come up doth his stench, For he hath exerted himself to work. 21 Do not fear, O land! joy and rejoice, For Jehovah hath exerted Himself to work. 22 Do not fear, O cattle of the field! For sprung forth have pastures of a wilderness, For the tree hath borne its fruit, Fig-tree and vine have given their strength! 23 And ye sons of Zion, joy and rejoice, In Jehovah your God, For He hath given to you the Teacher for righteousness, And causeth to come down to you a shower, Sprinkling and gathered—in the beginning. 24 And full have been the floors with pure corn, And overflown have the presses with new wine and oil. 25 And I have recompensed to you the years That consume did the locust, the cankerworm, And the caterpillar, and the palmer-worm, My great force that I did send against you. 26 And ye have eaten, eating and being satisfied, And have praised the name of Jehovah your God, Who hath dealt with you wonderfully, And not ashamed are My people to the age. 27 And ye have known that in the midst of Israel am I, And I am Jehovah your God, and there is none else, And not ashamed are My people to the age. 28 And it hath come to pass afterwards, I do pour out My Spirit on all flesh, And prophesied have your sons and your daughters, Your old men do dream dreams, Your young men do see visions. 29 And also on the men-servants, and on the maid-servants, In those days I do pour out My Spirit. 30 And I have given wonders in the heavens, and in the earth, Blood and fire, and columns of smoke. 31 The sun is turned to darkness, and the moon to blood, Before the coming of the day of Jehovah, The great and the fearful. 32 And it hath come to pass, Every one who calleth in the name of Jehovah is delivered, For in mount Zion and in Jerusalem there is an escape, As Jehovah hath said, And among the remnants whom Jehovah is calling!

The 12 apostles and the 12 tribes at Pentecost formed the foundation of the new Jerusalem. …and the Lord was adding those being saved every day to the assembly.

Acts 2:16-47

YLT 16 `But this is that which hath been spoken through the prophet Joel: 17 And it shall be in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of My Spirit upon all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams; 18 and also upon My men-servants, and upon My maid-servants, in those days, I will pour out of My Spirit, and they shall prophesy; 19 and I will give wonders in the heaven above, and signs upon the earth beneath—blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke, 20 the sun shall be turned to darkness, and the moon to blood, before the coming of the day of the Lord—the great and illustrious; 21 and it shall be, every one—whoever shall call upon the name of the Lord, he shall be saved. 22 `Men, Israelites! hear these words, Jesus …

The eternal day of Malachi 4:2 was for the believers. The unbelievers in the land were tread under foot in the Day of The Lord. The believers reigned in the Day of The Lord while the unbelievers remained in the day of Israel’s and Adam’s death.

Malachi 4

CLV 1 For behold! The day of Yahweh is coming, consuming as a stove, and it devours them. And all the arrogant and all doing wickedness become straw. And the coming day sets them aflame, says Yahweh of hosts, which will not leave to them root or bough.” 2 Yet the Sun of righteousness shall radiate to you who fear My name, and healing is in its wings. And you shall come forth, and you prance as calves of the stall.” 3 And you shall tread down the wicked, for they are becoming ashes under the soles of your feet in the day which I am making, says Yahweh of hosts.” 4 Remember the law of Moses, My servant, which I instruct him in Horeb for all Israel, the statutes and judgments.” 5 Behold! I will send to you Elijah, the prophet, before the coming of the great and fearful day of Yahweh.” 6 And he shall restore the heart of the fathers to the sons and the heart of the sons to their fathers, lest I shall come and smite the [land] earth to its doom.”

Matthew 11:14

YLT 14 and if ye are willing to receive it, he is Elijah who was about to come;

Mark 9:10-13

LITV 10 And they held the word to themselves, debating what it is to rise from the dead [ones]. 11 And they asked Him, saying, Do the scribes say that Elijah must come first? 12 And answering, He said to them, Indeed, Elijah coming first restores all things. And how it has been written of the Son of man that He suffer many things and be despised! 13 But I say to you, Elijah also has come and they did to him whatever they desired, even as it has been written of him.

Matthew 17:10-13

LITV 10 And His disciples asked Him, saying, Why then do the scribes say that Elijah must come first? 11 And answering, Jesus said to them, Elijah indeed comes first and shall restore all things. 12 But I say to you, Elijah has already come, and they did not know him, but did to him whatever they desired. So also the Son of man is about to suffer by them. 13 Then the disciples understood that He spoke to them about John the Baptist.

Revelation 6:12-17

YLT 12 And I saw when he opened the sixth seal, and lo, a great earthquake came, and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood, 13 and the stars of the heaven fell to the earth—as a fig-tree doth cast her winter figs, by a great wind being shaken— 14 and heaven departed as a scroll rolled up, and every mountain and island—out of their places they were moved; 15 and the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich, and the chiefs of thousands, and the mighty, and every servant, and every freeman, hid themselves in the dens, and in the rocks of the mountains, 16 and they say to the mountains and to the rocks, `Fall upon us, and hide us from the face of Him who is sitting upon the throne, and from the anger of the Lamb,’ 17 because come did the great day of His anger, and who is able to stand?

In the Day of The Lord, unbelievers tried to hide from Yahweh’s wrath. Indeed even the planet could not remain if these events weren’t being described with apocalyptic literature. Stars fall, heaven departs, every mountain and island is moved and afterwards people hide in caves. The old creation was rolled up as a scroll.

Hebrews 8:13

YLT 13 in the saying `new,’ He hath made the first old, and what doth become obsolete and is old is nigh disappearing.

Hebrews 9:8-15

YLT 8 the Holy Spirit this evidencing that not yet hath been manifested the way of the holy places, the first tabernacle having yet a standing; 9 which is a simile in regard to the present time, in which both gifts and sacrifices are offered, which are not able, in regard to conscience, to make perfect him who is serving, 10 only in victuals, and drinks, and different baptisms, and fleshly ordinances—till the time of reformation imposed upon them . 11 And Christ being come, chief priest of the coming good things, through the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands—that is, not of this creation— 12 neither through blood of goats and calves, but through his own blood, did enter in once into the holy places, age-during redemption having obtained; 13 for if the blood of bulls, and goats, and ashes of an heifer, sprinkling those defiled, doth sanctify to the purifying of the flesh, 14 how much more shall the blood of the Christ (who through the age-during Spirit did offer himself unblemished to God) purify your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? 15 And because of this, of a new covenant he is mediator, that, death having come, for redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, those called may receive the promise of the age-during inheritance,

Matt 24:29-31 Day comes after the dark phase of the tribulation which is the persecution initiated by unbelievers onto believers. The same Jews who stirred up the crowd and Pilot against Jesus stirred up the crowds and the nations and the Romans against His followers. Jews took it into their own hands to kill Stephen. Those who hated the light stayed in the dark and went to second death, but the Day of The Lord turns to eternal day-light for believers. This is in no way antisemitism. Jesus came to bring salvation to the Jews.

The new covenant church was very anti-Gentile until the foundational Jews saw the Holy Spirit adding all nationalities to the one and only body of Christ. Salvation is of the Jews, by way of a Jew and firstly to the Jews. It was the unbelieving Jews who turned against the believing Jews, especially after they started accepting all believers in Christ. The unbelievers didn’t believe their own writings about Him. The rejection of the Jewish prophecies about their Jewish Messiah is very anti-semitic. The believers in Christ are the true Jews because they have the same belief as the One and only True Jew. They did not hate the light of day. They joined it.

Revelation 22:5

YLT 5 and night shall not be there, and they have no need of a lamp and light of a sun, because the Lord God doth give them light, and they shall reign—to the ages of the ages.

Acts 7:58

CLV 58 And, casting him out, outside of the city, they pelted him with stones. And the witnesses put off their garments at the feet of a young man called Saul.”

Acts 13:50

YLT 50 And the Jews stirred up the devout and honorable women, and the first men of the city, and did raise persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and did put them out from their borders;

Acts 14:2

YLT 2 and the unbelieving Jews did stir up and made evil the souls of the nations against the brethren;

Acts 17:13

YLT 13 And when the Jews from Thessalonica knew that also in Berea was the word of God declared by Paul, they came thither also, agitating the multitudes;

Acts 21:27-32

CLV 27 Now as the seven days were about to be concluding, Jews from the province of Asia, gazing at him in the sanctuary, threw the entire throng into confusion, and laid hands on him, 28 crying, “Men! Israelites! Help! This is the man who is teaching all men everywhere against the people, and the law, and this holy place. Besides, still more, he led Greeks also into the sanctuary, and has contaminated this holy place.” 29 For, before this, Trophimus the Ephesian was seen in the city with him, whom they inferred that Paul led into the sanctuary.” 30 Besides, stirred was the whole city, and there came to be a running together of the people. And getting hold of Paul, they drew him outside of the sanctuary, and immediately the doors are locked.” 31 And while they are seeking to kill him, the allegation came up to the captain of the squadron that the whole of Jerusalem is in confusion, 32 who, taking along soldiers and centurions, forthwith ran down to them. Now they, perceiving the captain and the soldiers, cease beating Paul.”

In 2 Peter 3:8 the Day is as a millennium and a millennium as a Day. Jesus finishes Adam’s millennial day and makes it His never-ending day: eternal light (never-ending life). Any delay was due to God’s patience to all who would be saved.

Rev 1:10 means Sunday to some. Biblically the Lord’s Day took the place of Adam’s day. That doesn’t mean Adam’s seventh day of rest was changed to the first day of creation. It means Jesus completed Adam’s humanity on the sixth day and took His people to His sabbath rest, the rest that remained for the people of God, according to Hebrews.

He took Adam’s judgement day of death on the cross and resurrected it for His people. The Lord was already back on His throne when John was given the apocalyptic vision. It meant destruction to some and salvation to others. The Greek root for apocalypse [αποκαλυπτω | αποκαλυψισ] is a verb meaning to uncover, reveal, lay bare, or disclose. In English we often define it as a noun that signifies only the negative side of The Day Of The Lord.

Common definition of Apocalypse: noun

  1. The complete final destruction of the world, as described in the book of Revelation.

Common definition of the Lord’s Day: noun

  1. First day of the week as indicated in Revelation chapter one.

On March 7, 321 Roman Emperor Constantine I issued a civil decree making Sunday a day of rest from labor, stating: All judges and city people and the craftsmen shall rest upon the venerable day of the sun.

Across the Roman Empire, adherents of Eastern mystery cults worshiped the Persian god Mithras, the Egyptian god Serapis, and other false solar deities on Sunday. True Christians worshiped the true God on Sabbaths. It was even Jesus’ custom to preach on the Sabbath. After Christ’s death, Paul and the other apostles still followed Christ’s and every other Jew’s example in meeting and preaching on the Sabbath.

Acts 13:42

KJV 42 And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath.

It was the third century AD before we have any record of Christians worshiping on Sunday. In the third century, Catholics were divided over which day to worship. Origen wrote, “But what is the feast of the Sabbath except that of which the apostle speaks, ‘There remaineth, therefore, a Sabbatism,’ that is, the observance of the Sabbath by the people of God? Leaving the Jewish observances of the Sabbath, let us see how the Sabbath ought to be observed by a Christian. On the Sabbath day all worldly labors ought to be abstained from. If, therefore, you cease from all secular works, and execute nothing worldly, but give yourselves up to spiritual exercises, repairing to church, attending to sacred reading and instruction … this is the observance of the Christian Sabbath.”

I disagree with Origen (AD 185-253). The remaining sabbatism for the people of God was not the typical weekly day of rest as required under law. The custom of meeting on the seventh day was just that in the third century; a custom. The old covenant laws concerning days of the week or days of the month are no longer binding on new covenant people and nobody is in the old covenant anymore.

The Jews addressed in the letter to the Hebrews were already betrothed to God by way of a new covenant. That was the sabbatism of their rebirth as a nation on Pentecost. The sabbatism that remained was the wedding itself. The fulfilment of the promise of the betrothal is what remained for the Hebrews. In the literary Hebrew form of chiasmus, the new marriage covenant took place before the old marriage covenant was destroyed. Chiasmus means crossing. The covenant transition from old to new started at the cross and worked it’s way out. Jesus reversed the curses of Adam and Israel.

Proverbs 7:2

LITV 2 Keep my commands and live, and my law as the pupil of your eye.

There are no longer any binding laws from God about days of the week or days of the months.

The Roman Emperor Constantine enforced Sunday worship. In AD 321, he issued an edict forbidding work on “the venerable day of the sun.” Easter was also to be kept on Sunday, and the Jewish observance of Passover was forbidden. Some of the churches were still celebrating Passover after the 14th day of the moon as prescribed by old covenant law. The irony is that in the new covenant we are released from the keeping of festivals by way of laws.

Constantine went a step further and made all unauthorized church meetings illegal. “Forasmuch, then, as it is no longer possible to bear with your pernicious errors, we give warning by this present statute that none of you henceforth presume to assemble yourselves together. We have directed, accordingly, that you be deprived of all the houses in which you are accustomed to hold your assemblies: and our care in this respect extends so far as to forbid the holding of your superstitious and senseless meetings, not in public merely, but in any private house or place whatsoever. Let those of you, therefore, who are desirous of embracing the true and pure religion take the far better course of entering the Catholic Church …. [F]rom this day forward none of your unlawful assemblies may presume to appear in any public or private place. Let this edict be made public.”

In AD 363, the Council of Laodicea determined, “Christians must not Judaize by resting on the Sabbath [that is the seventh day], but must work on that day, rather honoring the Lord’s day [the first day]. … But if any shall be found to be Judaizers, let them be anathema from Christ.”

The creed of the catholic church had to be enforced by the Roman Empire, because almost 40 years after the Council of Nicea some people still weren’t buying it. I still think we can meet any day we want and are not required by God’s law to meet or not meet on any certain day.

Matthew 28:1

CLV 1 Now it is the evening of the sabbaths. At the lighting up into one of the sabbaths came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to behold the sepulcher.

It was the Lord’s resurrection Day that made it possible for His people to join Him in His Day; to live to the fulness of the old age and into the ages of the ages. Believer’s joined The Lord’s Day to reign in Adam’s and Israel’s 1000 years alive.

Romans 5:14

CLV 14 nevertheless death reigns from Adam unto Moses, over those also who do not sin in the likeness of the transgression of Adam, who is a type of Him Who is about to be.”

Colossians 2:16

YLT 16 Let no one, then, judge you in eating or in drinking, or in respect of a feast, or of a new moon, or of sabbaths,

John 5:17-24

LITV 17 But Jesus answered them, My Father works until now, and I work. 18 Because of this, therefore, the Jews lusted the more to kill Him, for not only did He break the sabbath, but also called God His own Father, making Himself equal to God. 19 Then Jesus answered and said to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son is not able to do anything from Himself, except what He may see the Father doing; for whatever that One does, these things also the Son does the same way. 20 For the Father loves the Son and shows to Him all things which He does. And He will show Him greater works than these in order that you may marvel. 21 For even as the Father raises the dead, and gives life, so also the Son gives life to whomever He wills. 22 For the Father judges no one, but has given all judgment to the Son, 23 so that all may honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. The one not honoring the Son does not honor the Father who has sent Him. 24 Truly, truly, I say to you, the one who hears My word, and believes the One who has sent Me, has everlasting life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.

The unbelievers in the land strained out a gnat and swallowed a camel. They rejected the salvation God sent to them yet would not pronounce the name God told Moses to say to them for fear of offending Him. God never judged them for mispronouncing His name. He only judged the ones who rejected and continued to reject His beloved Son to the age. Nowhere does it say I am judging the way you pronounce my name. They were judged in AD 70 for not reverencing His Son as Himself and for all the martyrs back to Able.

2 Kings 17:34-41

CLV 34 Unto this day they are doing according to the former customs–they are not fearing Yahweh, and are not doing according to their statutes, and according to their ordinances, and according to the law, and according to the command, that Yahweh commanded the sons of Jacob whose name He made Israel, 35 and Yahweh makes with them a covenant, and charges them, saying, `You do not fear other elohims, nor bow yourselves to them, nor serve them, nor sacrifice to them, 36 but Yahweh who brought you up out of the land of Egypt with great power, and with a stretched-out arm, Him you do fear, and to Him you bow yourselves, and to Him you do sacrifice;” 37 and the statutes, and the judgments, and the law, and the command, that He wrote for you, you observe to do all the days, and you do not fear other elohims;” 38 and the covenant that I have made with you you do not forget, and you do not fear other elohims;” 39 but Yahweh your Elohim you do fear, and He does deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies;. 40 and they have not hearkened, but according to their former custom they are doing, 41 and these nations are fearing Yahweh, and their graven images they have served, both their sons and their sons’ sons; as their fathers did, they are doing unto this day.

Colossians 2:14-22

ECB 14 wiping the handscribing of dogmas against us – opposed to us and taking it from among us, spiking it to his stake; 15 and having stripped hierarchies and authorities, he exposed them boldly, triumphing over them in it. 16
WARNINGS
So no one is to judge you in food or in drink or in apportioning a celebration or of the new moon or of the shabbaths: 17 which are a shadow of the about to be; and the body is of the Messiah. 18 Be not defrauded of doing his will in humblemindedness and ceremonials of angels, by intruding into the not seen, vainly puffed up by the mind of his flesh, 19 and not empowering the Head, from which the whole body through joints and bonds being supplied and co-alescesd growing with the growth of Elohim. 20 So if you die with the Messiah from the elements of the cosmos, why, as though living in the cosmos, are you dogmatized 21 – touch not, taste not, finger not 22 – which all destruct with the consuming after the misvoth and doctrines of humanity?
